Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No - just that the fans solution is always to spend money. It doesn’t matter if we’re 2nd or 15th - the remedy is to spend more.

The underlying causes of our bad form can’t be solved in the January transfer window.
It can’t but it is reminder that Levy doesn’t care about success on the pitch, or should I say, doesn’t care enough.
The fans are like that because we never spend enough money to take that next step. Same old story. I was Levy in until the summer of 2018.

Yeah total surprise to the club that we were playing in 4 competitions this season.

Mate, that's why in the summer I was shouting for another striker and a central midfielder with experience.

In their absence....

So many on here, who always stay silent at such times were on their usual no we don't, we got enough blah blah blah.

You are right but no remedy was provided before the wound got exposed, because too many thought we were immune.

3 players needed.

The worst thing for this club this season has been the fcuking Europa sh!t cup.

Ww can't cope with 1 game per week let alone 2. Disaster.

Think we need more than that this week, manager aside the players look so weak . Kids and second string mod players can only do so much when playing 3 times per week for 8 weeks .

Not gonna happen of course. Probably be a last minute attempt at vlhaovic on loan.

Arguably we have the worst owner in the league relative to wealth surely

The players need rest. The players need a new voice.

Our squad is nowhere near as bad as our results but of course once you get to the bare bones it becomes more exposed.

Honestly though, many clubs are playing twice a week and they hardly rotate much. Also are we not supposed to have the best sporting facilities in the world and that should allow faster recovery time too?

I'm not discounting the injuries as a cause to our form, but surely we CAN'T be that bad all things considered?

We are fuck shit bad to a point we looked spent by 25th minute. I REALLY have no idea why. They can literally do nothing but train and eat and recover and sleep.

In the summer of 2018 we had made 18 years of solid progress. We had done nothing but make the next step.

Fact is that fans are never happy. Nothing is ever enough.

Right now is terrible though, make no mistake.

Correct.....it's true that the club has already spent a lot, the problem is that they spent it very badly in a lot of cases.

However, we are talking about now and the team has not been in this situation for many many years. In the past the need was for real quality in the transfer windows to help secure top 4 or help win a trophy. Now we are talking about potential relegation and a heavily depleted squad. It's a crisis now.

Unfortunately under this manager the players are much more likely to get injured, he knows it and has admitted it himself, so it only makes sense that he needs more players in order to cover. If the club don't want to buy any more players then they need to bring in a new manager with different tactics and beliefs.

I can't answer that but confidence makes a huge difference and our injuries are insane.

I remember saying after the club lost the CL final that, this would be as good as it gets and we would unlikely see anything like it again.
The club is in terminal decline now, toss of a coin how the season ends up.

We are relying on 17 and 18 year olds, it's not fair on them and it's not going to end well. We absolutely can bring in some experience in January to settle us down.
When I read that, I read deadwood.Do you have any experienced signings in mind or is it just an idea?

We will get a lot of players back over the next month. Who is that experienced player that will his the ground running? We need them now, less so in a month.

We’re not even that young. Chelsea comfortably younger and doing very well. Premier League - Average age of the starting XI

Yeah that was the moment we basically packed it in as a club.

To Dare is Too Hard for Levy from that point onwards.

He had hoped he could fluke his way to a CL and that would have kept the fans satiated for 20 years.

Instead it's just been purgatory since in a big souless stadium with nice beer and shit football.

Since he start of December we’ve played 11 PL games and won once. Against Southampton.

That is completely unacceptable and the problems are deeper than the players we put on the pitch.

On the plus side, we are giving lots of experience to talented young players.

We do need a new manager. The question is when do we sack this one. Now? Or wait until better options at the end of the season.

I think if we sack him now and results don’t improve then what do we do next? Keep powder dry and see how the cups go. 3 big games coming up and winning two of them should buy him time.
