He’s not 5!!

Let’s be honest with ourselves here.

Levy is not liked by other chairmen. A grudging respect maybe but not liked. It’s well documented.

Right now he’s never been in a worse negotiating position. Any chairman literally any of them can pull Levy’s pants down on any deal this January.

So I’m interesting to see what type of deal(s) we manage to get.

They we have the actual problem of replacing the manager. What position do you reckon Ange was on our list last time out? You’d think he was lower than 5th choice. Maybe closer to 10th. Was an insane amount of time it took to confirm a!new manager. He wasn’t 1st choice was he.

And the biggest issue.
Injuries. And a ridiculously small senior squad.
Will anybody be surprised if we lose Kulu or Porro, n the next week? They both look shattered.

Why would you sign up for this job if you have stable employment right now.

Negligence and naive behaviour has put us here.
PEH, Skipp, Parrott. All could have done some type of job during this run. We didn’t replace two of them due to gray and bergvall. Kids.
Parrott replaced by Lankshear. Who isn’t trusted.

When you look at the bigger picture you wonder what options levy actually has available right now.

I think unless you are a firefighter type manager or currently unemployed anyway you avoid this job like the plague. And see if we are still in the cups or just have the league to worry about.

I can understand why Ange would get the Liverpool and Villa game. It becomes a clean break then. If he’s out of both he’s failed completely.

So Levy has managed to create a position where he can’t do much but trust Ange with the football team short term. And trust the football people he has put in place to deal with transfers / scouting etc.

What a shit show we are watching unfold.

That's a lot of ranting there. I get it.
My short version is that letting it go on this long has made everything harder for Levy now. The desperation will be very evident and it absolutely puts him in a position of weakness.

You can’t really scan for a sprain or a “knock”.

A lot of it is self reported and then physio’s have to do rehab to get them match-fit.

Anyone can fake a limp or a bit of soreness.

Doubt it’s happening though.

A sprain, medically speaking,is ligament damage. The swelling is obvious enough and usually fairly immediate.
But you can clearly see it on X rays and scans.

When I badly sprained my ankle, and the Dr at A&E said, rather condescendingly, "it's just a sprain" my entire ankle and foot was massive. The next day the bruising was everywhere and even signs of bleeding

So good luck faking that. 15 years later and it still hurts sometimes.

AngeLOSS fanbois need to see it. Read it. Read it again and again before saying "weev gotoo bak him, Angeball will work"

Fuck. Right. Off.

I can understand why Ange would get the Liverpool and Villa game.
thats terrible logic for the board

if we somehow flukes LFC away and we get to the final, that's not till late Feb?

OK that's unlikely to happen tbh.

But if we get through to the EL wihtout needing a playoff then its even worse - 13th of March 2nd leg of next round. And we really should be getting there.

Fuck me if ever we've needed a captain who isn't Sonny its been the last few months for them to barge into Levys office and say I'm done here unless you get Matey out now

Late Feb?
Middle of fucking March. We could be in the bottom 3 by then.

Those stats are a disgrace for our club. Ange isn’t working. Levy is an idiot.

I met up with a couple of girlfriends today and we've known each other for decades, so they know how I feel about Spurs. They have what I think are real problems, whereas I'm so miserable at the moment, just because of our results.
I wish I could just walk away (did stop going for a while, when I went through my divorce), but they pulled me back in, once I sorted myself out. Don't think I'll ever stop following Spurs - Tottenham 'til they kill me!

Ah, so many here feel you.
I hate that I love the club so much. And that I let the results get to me (though it has improved recently).

Will see what happens.

I can’t believe he’s still got a job right now tbh.

But how many times have we touched ball in opposition box?
I understand that to very many here this is far more important than trivial crap like points in the table, or league position, or anything else really.
Cause it is "fundamental".
Actual results are fluke ya know mate. Cause "We create enough chances to win game" pretty much in every game! :D

Oh. Wait, mate. You just recently were talking about "small sample size".
And now all of a sudden 16 games is enough of sample :o . Very surprising. Or more like... very well alligned with your agenda.

This season results with this backline -
vs Leicester 1:1
vs Everton 4:0
vs Woolwich 0:1
vs Brendford 3:1
vs ManU 3:0
vs Brighton 2:3
vs West Ham 4:1
vs Crystal Palace 0:1

8 games.
4 wins.
1 draw.
3 losses.

13 points.
1,6 ppg.
62 points per season. Under perfect (!) conditions!

Another proof that injuries are pathetic excuse for manager that is shittiest full generation of Spurs fans has seen.

So next time you want to post fitting your agenda, please do some checking too :) .
Might not look like a complete idiot and liar.

I am not sure how he got to 16 games? Most likely tapping to previous season. That would include first 10 games too. But this is so clear outlier and proven by 5x longer "sample size" that it will never recover. Even if these numbers are true (which I doubt), it still relies on fact that "oh, but look at the first 10 games"..

The fact that I can cherry pick any set of dates and numbers to fit MY agenda is exactly my point because I'm doing it consciously to show people who are doing it to fit their own agenda.

Remove sample sizes and there are 3 objective facts to deal with here:

1. Finished 5th last season after replacing Lloris, selling Kane without a replacement, losing Son for a month, losing Maddison and VDV for months, losing Bissouma and Sarr for about a month, and reducing the wage bill from Conte's squad.

2. Having a very poor league season this season. Granted with mitigating factors around injuries and another significant reduction of the wage bill but no doubt should be doing much better in the league.

3. Still in all 3 Cup competitions, 1-0 up in the league cup SF, next round of the EL (hopefully top 8 so straight to R16), only lost 1 game all season outside the league.

You absolutely could sack him for the league form this season. Other managers would have been and I am surprised he hasn't been. I would stick with him because I can filter out all the noise, agendas, and opinions on what is and isn't good football, to see a very promising project that has a great chance to end our trophy drought this season and then go even further than that in the future with some extremely talented young players already bedded in ahead of schedule.

No doubt you are led by your opinion on what is or isn't good football and don't agree on the chance of ending the trophy drought so want him gone. That's fine, different opinions are allowed but people are starting to reach a point where any opinion other than "sack him, he's a fraud" are offensive to them like it's an objective fact that he's certain to fail for the rest of the season. Football, and sport in general, don't work that way. Its never black and white the way people expect it to be.

You've been battered into submission then.

Same here, don't even get annoyed when we concede anymore, all I could do when Leicester took the lead was laugh.

We're a shambles, and at this point the best approach to following us is to view it as a comedy.

Ok, but guys, we focus here on the past a lot.
Let me draw you future scenario from here until the end of season, so we can come back to it later.

First of all - from now until the transfer window, not much will happen.
There will be rabbit out of hat, one player that is most likely not very good fit and just happened to be available will join us. Which will not nearly be enough.

I do not care much about this week results, but overall I think we will get into top 8 in EL.

Now roll on next (domestic cup week) - first of all - Liverpool game. With first half they will score 3-4 goals.
2nd half Slot is cleaver manager - he knows there are lot of games. So he starts subbing on rotation players in 2nd half. We manage to score 1. And then on 88th-92nd we score one more. So Ange can say that "we pushed them really to the limit here, mate. We were really close and created enough, but today it was not our day". Even though team who progresses was clear by 40th minute.

Then Villa game rolls on. Emery knows what is needed to be done. He packs the middle part of the field and turns possession over to us. We run and pass a lot. But twice during the game they find 3-4 passes combinations and score from both. In the end 2:1 or 2:0 win for them. So we are out of both domestic cups and in last 1/3 of EPL table.

Levy pulls the trigger.
Either appoints Mason or more likely someone like Tersic with short term contract (1,5 years or smth).

We see a bounce in league, getting some 2:0 / 3:1 wins against sides lower than us.

In EL we progress from first play-off round and some people start to feel hope.
We go ahead in the 2nd play off round in 2nd round. Just to crumble to the ground in repeat fixture.
So we are out of all cups.

In EPL we end season on 11-13th place.
And it will go down to history as shockingly poor season.

In summer Levy sanctions few reasonable deals, but again inevitably too little to bridge all the needed gaps. We (hopefully) sell Romero in the summer.
Form in league improves, but not enough. Rinse and repeat.

I don't even get enjoyment when we score tbh.
When we went 1 up Vs Newcastle I barely flinched. I had a Spurs supporting Geordie sat next to and she was over the moon. She asked why I wasn't cheering. I just said "i'll wait for VAR"
Truth is a bit of that as it was close and also that going 1 up in the first few minutes means absolutely nothing.

I didn't even cheer the first 3 goals against City. Only the 4th made it feel safe :roflmao:
