We’ve already beaten Liverpool and regularly beat Villa 4–0. Not many European teams get past Galatasaray at home and hopefully that match, if we even get them, will be in London.

He needs some points in the league sharpish, but yeah, I think the chances he manages the first game of next season are WAY higher than most here believe.

That will be Levy's decision if he can possibly get away with it. In that bald head of his managerial change has become associated with player expenditure (which is true), his perspective has shifted.

I agree. Levy knows there are more Postecoglou supporters than opponents and, given his own unpopularity, he's not going to bring down their wrath on him. The injury problem, which he played a part in creating, is a free pass for anything that happens the remainder of the season. As long as he can avoid relegation he should be in no danger of being fired. I think even if it gets to less than 3 points from relegation he won't be fired because by then it would be too late for a rescue effort.
 
League position is largely pointless now (as long as don’t go down).

In order of importance, Europa league due to champions league next year if win, league cup (as so close to a final and guarantees more European football next year), fa cup (have a longer path to go to win that).

Need to win at least one of the above to get that tasty tasty European football next year

Sadly some posters here take more joy in having one over the other than feeling anything on the results.
 
He's not going anywhere, is he? Even if we're dumped out of the cups - the cult of personality, returning players and potential compo pay-out will keep him steady.

We'd have to be right on the edge of relegation for Levy to pull the trigger.
