It's cash flow. We could go out like Barca and sell our TV rights for the next 3 years, doesn't mean we have more money just moves when we get it. We don't have issues with cash flow.

For BM it may be attractive especially if we offer to remove some potential add-ons.

Hmm, maybe. A lot comes down to the work environment. We came close under Poch, and that was under Levy.

Not trying to defend Levy - he's a cheap cunt - but I'm quite sure that Levy is fine to work under (except when it comes to transfers) and he has a somewhat clear vision for the organisation. I don't think you can say the same about the management at United.

Lots going on at Bayern.

Its public knowledge that Tel was frustrated at lack of playing time there with the 3 29 year olds you mention not playing well - but his suggestions that he should play more were rebuffed.

I think it highly likely Tel tried to put Bayern on the spot asking for a loan away, and was not pleased when they agreed - he thought they would refuse and want to keep him until they had 'tidied' up their squad.

Spurs not interested in a 'dry loan' so offered Bayern a loan with an option or obligation to buy and permanent deal (which usually means they have talked to player) - Bayern agreed a fee for a permanent transfer.

Tel is not happy his bluff has been called, hence rejection of Spurs offer of a permanent transfer - no CL this season, and promises of lots of playing time but no guarantees etc.

Question now is whether he' can still persuade Bayern he wants to stay but needs more playing time or whether he can persuade a club playing CL to take him but guarantee him more playing time. I think its 50/50 he stays at Bayern personally
 
Ange's "system" is arguably even more demanding of a DM than it is of CBs, and other than Gray we don't have a prototypical DM in the squad regardless.

I don't get this extreme urgency about the latter,so much so that allegedly players like Disasi are being targeted now, while doing nothing about the former.

Both Fab & Lange have proven that they're capable of pulling a deal off with minimal fuss......... Did you not stop to think that maybe how 'public' things are depends on the profile of the club & players we're involved with?

(Kinksy - eg - was rapid and under the radar and quite a lot of our deals over the last few years have been.)

Munich are one of the biggest clubs in the world and all manner of other clubs were 'publicly' (whatever that actually means in vivid terms*) cast in that saga.... There are eyes on everything that goes on there.... Esp. German media (who were obviously the trigger point for most of the stories circulating this last few days...... Whilst Sky, The Athletic, the UK tabloids etc. were - typically - playing catch up.)

(*I'd suggest although it helps ramp up the "embarrassment" trauma narrative for fans that are so inclined; all that 'public' really denotes is the degree of media attention shone..... The #1 component to that is the stature of the parties involved.... The second component to that being there's some genuine activity behind the scenes and the media will in turn squeeze that for all the column inches they can.)


......Look at the Liverpool sagas surrounding Salah, TAA & VVD over the last 6 months. Pretty sure Liverpool didn't go out of their way to get all that on the front page.

True 😂 I don’t disagree that we need upgrades, at all. It’s more like how much dead weight can we carry financially? Until some of them are moved on, I’d rather see them prioritise other positions first. It’s not going to happen, sadly. I’m convinced that once Levy saw players like Sancho, Anthony, going for big big money he purposely started hoarding wingers (shit or not)
