Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Look at rashford scenario and ozil at Woolwich a few years ago. Not in frame so club left with massive wages to pay. Should be wage cap anyway imo like they do in NFL.
NFL have total control as no other countries play that game. PL put in a wage cap ( like we arbitrarily closed our transfer window) others will just take advantage.

On the other side in the NFL the owners are taking the greater share of money compared to football where it goes to the players.

No wage cap without caps on tickets and TV costs.

I would rather mainly working class lads who are actually doing the work becoming sickeningly rich than billionaire owners getting richer.

As much as I dont like Rashford, he has more talent than Werner, Johnson, 2025 Son and arguably Kulu. If he gets pissed off and decides to show man utd what they are missing, Villa could have a steal.

Or he could be washed and crap.
2025 Son > 2025 Rashford. We can guess he may improve at villa but comparing like for like it's not even close

He has always put his best performances when trying to get a new contract and then not so much.

Okay I'll spell it out.

Does he train right and does he put in that extra work at home...or does he slack off? Does he eat & drink the right things or does he indulge a bit too often? Is he an occasional smoker...heck, has Yves introduced him to the joys of funny balloons? Has he got good sleeping patterns of does he stay on Twitch and Brazilian telenovelas til 6am like his pal Neymar?

Wouldn't be the first footballer to take liberties and pay for it. And at this level, even marginal fuckups have major consequences. Was talking about Neymar above...guy had the talent to win 10 Ballons d'Or, see what actually happened.

I can't believe someone like Richarlison, 'playing' for Tottenham, on big money, with access to the very best care...can never stay fit. Can't all be bad luck and a fragile body (and mind).

If his unavailability is caused - even partially - by shitty habits, well yes it has everything to do with it.

End of the day, he's been a massive waste of 60 mil. Should never ever have bought him. He was always a bang average player. A move to West Ham should have been the summum of his career.

If the lad had any respect, he'd forgo some of his wages.
Again, you're basing all this on what Neymar has done. You don't know anything about Richarlison's habits - and since he is not as good as Neymar, I truly doubt that our manager would accept him slacking off.

Whether he's a good player or not was never the point of my comment. Whether he was worth 60 mil wasn't the point either. But calling him "Richarlatan" and a "clown" is not cool when you can see he does his very best on the pitch.

Whether we sell Richarlison in the summer or not, I have the utmost respect for him. His work ethic is exemplary and he's not been afraid to talk about mental health - a massive taboo in modern football.

As custodian of the club, surely, your core product out on that pitch should be the primary concern.
