I think Van Dyk is out of contract at the end of the season , so they will be looking fir a replacement

Chelsea definitely will be in for him

Man Utd need a new centre back

All 3 clubs will pay a higher salary than Spurs will

Guehi is a sensible chap so the only club he'd most probably be interested in is Liverpool, rumours that they were going to go for him last Summer as well.

The question that needs to be asked, why are you waiting until right before deadline day to try to offer big money for Tel, Guehi, etc.? This is just asking for things to blow up in your face.

It's destroying the product as well.

The Premier League is barely exciting to watch now because the formula has grown into one where teams try to reduce the load with shithousing, timewasting, and game models to control the periods when they are attacking only. Players will kill ther own counter attacks instead of trying something creative because that coaches game model prefers to have control instead creativity.
I think we've been in a bit of a tactical lull in the PL since the beginning of the Guardiola era, the sweeping success of his team has spawned an obsession of "control" amongst premier league managers, I think match load certainly plays a part in that and I think Guardiola's own system has changed a lot from the days of his swashbuckling, all-conquering Barcelona side that flourished with the individual genius of the likes of Messi, David Villa, Iniesta et al. His City team have been far more system-obsessed, players like Haaland are now the "jewel" in the team, a player I think he would have considered far too rigid and unrefined to head up his Barcelona team, but now his sheer physicality and flat track bully dominance in the scoring charts is exactly what a Pep system needs.

This season has been a very refreshing and interesting change in the status quo IMO, teams like Forest and Bournemouth are thriving without the same obsessiveness over in-match control. The problem with any system is when it's around long enough, the blueprint beomes more and more defined on how to counter it, and we've seen weird topsy-turvy years in the league like this in the past when there's been a big tactical shift in the game. I think we're watching Guardiola's last season at City anyway tbh, and once he's gone I think we could have a few turbulent years whilst the new "meta" of the league establishes itself.

This is what pisses me off about the nations league. They've essentially just glorified international friendlies that used to see the kind of players get gametime who don't usually get a look-in for their nation, but now because there's "silverware" on offer, International managers are compelled to play strong teams.
That was the goal. People were pissed off with pointless friendlies. This gave them a little bit of a reason to exist.

The general consensus I hear is the change is a success. I don't have an opinion.

Because against all evidence that clubs won’t sell without time to get replacements, Levy still thinks it’s 2010 and you can get a bargain at the last minute.

Either that or he thinks we’re stupid.

Nuno wins the league with forest in 2026?

That’s Richarlison who has 2 in 3 in the league since returning from injury, and, 10 in his last 13 Starts?

Seriously, folks get upset at his fee and associated expectation. He’s erratic but there’s a very good player in there.

He reminds me of Lamela, in expectation due to fee clouding judgement, plus bringing a give it all shithouse attitude.

Agree with all of this but he's not a great out and out 9. Having him on the left with Solanke in the middle would be a pressing nightmare for teams. We only saw it once against Villa when Richy laid on a beautiful assist for Solanke...

And tore his hamstring in the process... 😭
