Match Liverpool (A) EFL Carabao Cup Second Leg. 6/2 8PM (SKY & ITV) *We're up 1-0*.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But I don't trust Levy. I have zero faith that he'll back the project properly and keep the churn going until the mixture is right. He'll always leave managers short at necessary moment

Yes, it's just rinse and repeat. Unfortunately the fans have to accept it because Enic don't seem to be going anywhere

It's a new project, lots of young players coming in, lots of inexperience, it will take time to challenge for the top 4 again. Forget about winning anything, there is no desire from the top to win trophies.

Hugely tough fixture; but the team (performance) from the 1st leg or Brentford game stands a chance of squeezing the necessary draw out of that game.

That team didn't show up last night though.

...And once again; you could tell once Ange didn't make HT changes that all remaining hope was gone.

When will you accept that fundamentally the squad is just not even close to being good enough. You made a point of focusing on the performance and not the quality or strength in depth.

Forget the subs, forget the tactics there was nothing we would have done last night to reach the final.

It's so blatantly obvious.

We had:

In defence alone
- an 18 year old gray playing out of position in right back against gakpo
- a djed spence playing out of position at left back, albeit admirably
- Ben Davies in centre half who has spent half the season injured, and was a backup left back for years
- kevin danso thrown in with zero opportunity to settle

In attack
-son who is tired and not the player he was, that's been clear for a long time
-richarlison who again has been injured for an eternity and has no rhythm
-kulu playing on right wing who again is run into the ground

So all in all a team that aren't coming close to threatening top of the league at anfield

Dumb as rocks... this kinda defending has been a hallmark since Ange started
Just shocking defending from a "defensive" mid. Ange has got to go.. this sh1t is a regularity

[1] Biss gives away a stray pass... then just jogs casually backwards without picking up any opp player (Szoboszlai)

[2] continues his merry way into the box -- what for ??
the Fool (Gapko?)on the left eventually scores after Szoboszlai touches it on.

That's what Biss have been doing since he came here.

Either he is instructed to play like this when defending, or he is ignoring what he is told to do.

I have said for a long time now, we need to replace Biss, we need a REAL DMC.

Feel even more angry this morning

That pathetic showing last night sums up the total lack of fight in this club.

Non league sides in the FA cup put up more fight, pride and will to win than our team did last night. They just rolled over and accepted their fate.

Spence and Danso are the only ones who can hold their heads up this morning.

Son, Kulu, Bentancur, Bissouma - absolutely terrible showing.

But they'll wake up in their mansions this morning, maybe feel a bit bad and then forget all about it.

I know it's too early to judge but how did the new signings do last night?
I think they were average.

We needed ready players to make impact now, doubt they are.

I really don't know how our away fans do it - I know I couldn't.They are amazing every game too.
The lack of fight and belief last night was shocking - senior players you mention were disgraceful.
The teenagers are looking for help and guidance and got fuck all from them.

Waking up in the middle of the night for me to watch this game was like a really bad dream, now thinking back. Perhaps I didn't really wish to face it in the first place, knowing deep down we don't really stand a chance to go to the final. Honestly I also wasn't really putting much attention into watching like I have been for past few months knowing how poor we really are in most times, in the hope that the final whistle could come earlier when we were in the lead without focusing to watch.

Another match gone, very shallow in my memory, and sad it has been the case for quite some time..
I told a co-worker and Liverpool fan after the first leg, that we needed at least 4-0 going in to the second leg, to stand a chance.

And i was dead serious! It's a fucking horrible feeling to have about your own club.

We were doing fine until Bissouma did what he did. After that all belief disappeared and the result was inevitable. Thats the weak mentality I'm talking about, its there and generally it's always been there at this club. Everyone knows it, we are mocked for it, we have a word invented that accurately represents it

We didn't concede against Brentford or against Liverpool at home, it makes a difference and brings confidence the longer it goes on during a game but we were lucky in those games. Last night Bissoumas fuck up was punished. In general our players are not clever enough, confident enough, good enough to compete atm.

The only changes Ange could have made at half time were to bring in Moore and Bergvall but come on realistically what would have changed, they are just two kids. Change the tactics, push up more, press more? Liverpool would have just ran rings around us like they did in the 6-3. They are a very good team with an impressive smart manager in charge.

Moore, Berg, Porro, Tel, Reg...... A compact 4411 or narrow 451? Change it up.... He's paid millions to do something and to do that something at the right time. Not for the first time either; we looked worse after our HT talk.

We needed to get some synergy on our flanks and get at least one of Biss/Bentancur off to give some fresh impetus in the middle (even if just a bit more aggression)..... Before we went behind in the tie.

When Ange finally made changes it was already too late and what he did do made us worse. We were 2-1 down and they just picked us off after that. Meanwhile; Son, Kulu & Bentancur (arguably our 3 worst performances) survived the entire 90!

Bissouma is just a liability these days. For every bit of good theres as much bad. Needs to be a bench player. So disappointing. A player i thought could be massive for us

Tossing around the phrase "strength in depth" is disingenuous when we have unprecedented injury problems.

The bench looks TOTALLY different with Maddison, Solanke, Romero, VDV, Udogie, Johnson, Odobert, Vicario available.

Kulu, Son, Bentancur, Biss (and by proxy, Sarr) all played like shit.

This just doesn't hurt. It feels wrong to say that but it doesn't. The apathy is just overwhelming now.
It doesn't hurt but it's not all right, we are just too bad and nothing will change any time soon, another rebuild overhaul call it what you like and most likely won't work for one simple reason we are buying the wrong players every time. We are doomed, I have accepted it.

Moore, Berg, Porro, Tel, Reg

Tel was already on, Reg and Porro? Who would you have taken off for those two? Also how many subs were we allowed, you know that if sent all his subs on at half time someone would have got injured and we would have been to 10 men with no subs left

I agree about Berg, he should have come on at half time for Bissouma or Bentancur. Still it's all in hindsight and as I said none of it would have made a difference at the end. Liverpool were always winning this tie over two legs.

The problem has always been that our backups aren't good enough. It kills us every year whether it be an injury crisis or losing 2 or 3 key players from first team.

This year its catastrophic and we end up suffering the consequences fully.

We don't win things because our squad players do not fulfill the need.

I think it's disingenuous to complain about performance when this isn't a new phenomenon. It's not like these players have just had a rare "off" day.

So do you disagree that the squad is not good enough?
