Respectfully Dier misunderstood what he was doing. Players think 11 v 0 shape work is “tactics” . What he’s described by Ange there is a games based and constraints led approach to coaching where you teach tactics in game situations. It’s as evidenced based as you can get really when it comes to coaching to develop decision making
I really don't think someone as experienced as Dier was confused. And didn't Poch rely on the small-games approach for coaching?

Vs Rodri, Dias, Ake, Kovacic, KDB only fit to come on late etc..

Our team was strong. Bentancur vs Sarr is a toss up, Richarlison is always injured and Odobert and Moore are kids ffs. Never did we go in to the season thinking we would rely on them.
I don't even know what you're arguing. 3 - 4 starters missing for us, that's an injury crisis for most clubs.

Im of the opinion that the board didnt want to sack him in january in case any potential signings were scared of by the fact that we didnt have a manager. Lets see but the report now that there will be a decision on his future after the Villa game is a complete contrast to what we were getting before.

Dier is a player. They generally have no idea what coaching is until they actually try to do it.

Maybe Dier thought Poch didn't do "tactics" either...
So easy for you to dismiss a footballer of 15+ years saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about. Dier has given a million times more to Spurs than the clueless Aussie will ever. Dier knows the difference between tactics and what Ange is doing. Ange even says it himself he plays the way he wants no matter the opponent.

This is why Ange is so clueless he is like a boxer who has jumped from fighting the journeymen who everyone fights at the start of their careers to fighting world champions. He has completely skipped over fighting the challengers where you really learn the game.

They literally don’t have a recognised fit right back or striker and have a kid playing in midfield along with other midfielders who wouldn’t usually start and a CB who was a regular out long term..
You have to concede that Bournemouth have been playing one game a week all season though. They went out of the Carrabo at the 1st match. Iraola can actually train them, teach the kids the system. We’ve not actually had a clear week since October. There’s barely been time to do any actual training, it’s mostly recovery and some set piece stuff for the next opposition.

We should have done better than we have been, but it’s been a hugely challenging run, logistically, physically, and psychologically ,

They are not going to sack him. Do the board sit down on Monday if we beat Villa. I want Ange gone but you do it based on a body of work, not the result of one game because if we win that game do you cancel your meeting, postpone it or go ahead with it. I firmly believe the board are saying the injuries are what's causing this poor patch... but they are wrong.

Riiiiiight.

I think you're assuming that Dier has an IQ of 80. And understanding is different to application. Just because they're different disciplines doesn't mean that one party doesn't understand what the other is doing, even if they are not experienced at doing it themselves. And especially when they're so intertwined.

You’re right I ain’t a spurs fan. If Ange gets the sack it will be hilarious watching fans reactions on here whilst Spurs crash and burn over and over again never win a single trophy in the next 100 years. It will be the same cycle for all eternity:

New coach, renewed optimism, bad results, angry fans, sack coach, new coach, renewed optimism, bad results, angry fans, sack coach, new coach, renewed optimism, bad results, angry fans, sack coach, new coach, renewed optimism, bad results, angry fans, sack coach, new coach, renewed optimism, bad results, angry fans, sack coach, new coach…

Wft do Spurs fans know? You mean like Mourinho, Conte and Esperito who are currently sitting 2nd, 1st and 3rd respectively. How about Poch, who Ange finished above last year? You had world class coaches, the problem isn’t your managers it’s your players. Your players are shit. There’s no manager in the world who can make shit turn to gold.
I'm all for actual Spurs fans believing in Ange or thinking he can turn this around but I can't wait for these weirdos who just follow managers around to be flushed out of here.

That’s not what I said about Dier at all

What level of the game have you played to? You’ve got some fucking chops to be calling out a professional who’s represented his country, played at the highest level in different leagues and under some absolutely top class coaches.

Ideally we could get rid of them and ones who can’t go a day without calling him a clueless fat Aussie imposter. Would be a much nicer place if people could have a reasoned discussion about all the variables at play.
