I love Porro's commitment but would like to see him turn the ball over a lot less. Yes he's fatigued which is a mitigating factor but the high number of turnovers is not new (season average 21.5 turnovers per 90).

Spence on the other side was implicated in just 10 turnovers and won it back 12 times, and created a couple of decent chances in the first half. Pass completion 38 out of 45 = 84%. A deserved MotM.

This guy has become a joke. He can’t defend, out of position for the first goal only couple of minutes into the game. It’s like he doesn’t listen to the instructions and is just doing whatever he likes…

You're right. Spence also pressed up high into the final third too, it's got to be linked with Ange's high pressing tactics which always puts us in ridiculous, precarious situations.
Neither does Porro's already horrific defending in the first place.
 
Pedro Porro is not a Premier League standard right back, right wing back or capable of defending to a decent standard in any position.

He can cross a ball and occasionally get a powerful shot on target.

It's not enough to be picked regularly for THFC.

Djed Spence should be Spurs right back.

Make it happen if you love Spurs.
 
Yeah we need to sell this guy whilst his stocks still relatively high, PRONTO. I remember first seeing his teckers when he crossed the ball, and was instantly mesmerised. It's a great shame he's turned out to be a proper dopey cunt and can't defend to save his life!

This is an important point - Ange's tactics just make him far worse than he actually is.

Our tactics means he's like a loose cannon in attack, completely astray with no cohesive passing patterns with other players in the build up, so he never really has the time and space to consistently float balls in and utilised anything close to the best of his ability in attack. And because of how far forward he's constantly being positioned, it plays to all his defensive weaknesses, as he's never in the right position and in a panic when the opposing team counter attacks. Lost sheep/headless chicken syndrome - he just gets overloaded by the opposition players, rinse and repeat almost every game.

Ange's tactics had nothing to do with what the Tamworth winger did to Porro.

Porro is not Premier League standard.

He can pick out a decent long ball on occasion, cross the ball well and has a powerful shot.

However; he costs the team more goals than he scores or assists so is virtually useless.

Opposition teams target Porro's weakness and it makes us look like cunts.

He's not good enough.

Nor is Ange.
 
He's got pretty good ability on the ball but is absolutely shocking off it. He would probably look top drawer at times in a side like peak Man City where they have 70% possession most games and don't have to worry much about defending. But we're not that. We're not peak Salford City.

Defensively, it's easy to agree with your points. Offensively he almost certainly is PL standard, so I think I'm agreeing with yours thoughts on that too...but yes, it doesn't make up for his awful defensive play.

In a better coached team his defensive weaknesses were covered up much better due to the defensive unit being more solid in general. The problem this season is we are simply not playing as a team and we're playing like a bunch of U11's who've never played with each other before. There is zero cohesiveness in our build up and general play, therefore build up down the wing is often incredibly lacklustre, so as a result the player crossing the ball will have little space to move freely to find a noggin to place the ball on.
 
First 15 mins of a tough away cup game, you keep it tight. Less than a minute into the game, Porro is up the other end when they are attacking. He was nowhere to be seen when they scored their first goal. Always getting forward, never getting back.
 
If Porro was a soldier he would always be in the glasshouse for being MIA.

In every fucking game he takes part in there is so much space behind Porro I'm amazed Taylor Wimpey haven't built some new build houses in it.

I want the Brisbane Barry Evans to fuck off tonight and he can take this joker with him.
