A lot of the players are copping it, Johnson etc. but I wouldn't write any of them off yet. They are being very badly managed, a higher level coach and a couple of signings and fortunes can turn around quickly.

The only explanation that would spare him of -some- responsibility would be that players stopped playing for him. A team can't be more lethargic than this. But I wouldn't go down that road if I were a supporter of his, as they have been going on and on about how players run through walls for him. It'd be a shameful about-face to resort to.
It can't be a matter of talent disparity either, as the consensus has it that this AZ team is not in the same stratosphere as us. What is it then? How did such an inferior team manage to play us off the park? How did they stay more compact, retain the ball and get out in transition better, and even manage to press better? How did we end up with no shot on target against a team 6th in Eredivisie? What is even our level at this point?
I don't think their manager is a world beater,nor do I think he has been in charge for decades, but he has a team where players look like they know what they're doing. Turns out it doesn't take dozens of millions of pounds worth of signings for a manager to create a whole bigger than the sum of its parts.

Sorry, itās levy that has taken this club backwards in the last half decade.
Weāve been trending downwards since poch was fired. Every class player weāve had has aged out of it or left the club. Theyāve been replaced by expensive average players.
Donāt expect a managerial change to fix the rot at this club. We might get to 8th but we are more than a new manager from being top 4 contenders.
And we have to be one of the least desirable manager positions in the PL. What manager with ambition would come here? We can probably only attract managers that are happy to fail and collect a paycheck.
At least we had that going for us that we didn't come out with pathetic excuses like that.
