It’s as if we don’t train ball work.
So the FB who was in an advanced MF position missed his pass which allowed their player to run into the massive space vacated by the FB (who was in the advanced position) and was unable to get back, allowing him to hit a cross over both CBs, neither of whom were able to come to the FB position because there was no other covering player.
I think I’ve sussed the problem with Ange’s system:
Spence was back, just allowed their player to get in front of him.

Manager is shit. Most of our players are also either shit or criminally over-rated, the likes of Kulusevski, Maddison, Bentancur, Porro and Romero. They're good players but nothing special at all. A new manager won't get much more out of this bunch without serious investment.
Absolutely gobsmacked that this midfield has struggled to create chances, just couldn't have seen that coming at all...
