I'm not a big fan of the guy, in fact I think he should be sold this summer to prevent him from potentially running his contract down two years down the road. Let's get these out of the way.
That giveaway in the first minute was bonkers, as acknowledged by even himself, but other than that I don’t think he was primarily at fault in any of his other turnovers. No matter how gifted on the ball you think they are, expecting your CBs to break the opposition’s lines by threading the needle on a regular basis is not the way. Everybody from Vicario to Danso, Bentancur to Spence was struggling playing out from the back today, it was a case of Iraola getting the better of Ange above anything else.
This season we’ve already seen enough CBs look like they’re grasping for air whenever they get the ball inside our own third to conclude that it’s not a personnel issue. With the possible exception of Dragusin I don’t think any of these guys are slouches on the ball. Besides, other teams that can play out from the back consistently don’t all have Piques and Mascheranos at their disposal.Therefore the conclusion must be that our setup is an absolute mess, no other way around it.

The issue is the lack of organisation and kamikaze tactics.
They’d do well under a better manager.
I just don’t see it with Danso. I know he’s the new kid on the block so we’re more willing to give him time as a fanbase but he doesn’t pass the eye test for me, same as Dragusin.
VDV is class and I just hope his hammys hold up.

I don’t think there’s much to see - Danso is 26 and we guzumped Wolves to get him. That’s his level - to his credit he seems steady which means he should be the back- up right center back for us … not the starter.
