My Ange rollercoaster

Ange appointment I was sceptical
Ange press conferences at a time we were toxic , seemed like an ok guy
First 10 games , we are winning and I really like the way we are playing
Injuries start to pile up , so I cut Ange a lot of slack
We miss out on top 4 to Villa , we should have beaten them to 4th but remain Ange in
New season optimistic even though we let him down in the transfer market
Not great and injuries start to mount , poor old Ange
Results and performances are terrible , come on Ange tweak things this isn’t working
He does not tweak things , results are appalling .FFS Ange adapt to the injuries
We try 5 at the back without practice , embarrassing.
We now are shit at the back and shit going forward , shame it didn’t work he needs to go
Sack him Levy he is out of his depth , put him down humanely
Fuck off you fat useless fraud.
My position was straightforward. No rollercoaster for me.

I said from Day 1 he was a shocking appointment employed only to lower the expectations of an increasingly exploited and battered fanbase. Even during the false 10 game dawn I wasn't getting sucked into the bullshit.

We're nothing more than a fucking circus on the pitch looking at ways to continually raise more revenues off it

At the end of the day, guys, no serious, big football club....serious about winning, gets rid of a fiery, passionate proven winner at the highest level like Antonio Conte..... only to replace him with this, dour, uninspiring, journeyman turd.

If we sack Ange chances are we still win fuck all under Levy and a new manager . But that is chances are , meaning no matter how slim there is a chance we improve and win something . It is abundantly clear imho we win nothing under this clown , took me a while to get there . If we sack him there is hope , even if it is another false dawn. If we keep him these guys selling half and half scarves need to start selling anti depressants they would make a killing.

"It is abundantly clear we win nothing with this clown, took me a whole to get there"

Just to be clear, despite the evidence in front of your own eyes, you spent almost 2 years convincing yourself that the bullshit you could clearly see that was not working could magically work...???

Where you just hoping it would work out or what ?
I mean, nobody else in all 4 leagues even dare play like this...
5 home wins this season.
5!
What exactly was it that you saw that had you believing so religiously?!?!

In fairness to EdV - Football fan-dom is religion - It’s not rationale - I was off the Ange bandwagon pretty early but I try not to harshly judge any Spurs supporter who “wants to believe”

I'd honestly be happy with a team that had a more sustainable defensive structure, could hold onto the ball, and didn't leave such absurd amounts of space all over the pitch. The players can't be feeling very confident having to play this rubbish football every week and coughing up possession trying to progress the ball.

IMO there's some fairly obvious tactical tweaks that would shore us up and lead to more shot-creating actions, and which I have absolutely no faith in Ange employing:
  • Have our fullbacks provide the touchline width and bring our "wingers" narrower as wide forwards, which would better suit our squad. BJ, Maddison and Sonny (Moore, Tel) would make runs into the box and support Big Dom.
  • Have a defensive midfielder (e.g. Gray) drop back into a three when necessary as we're advancing the ball.
  • Play Maddison further up the pitch and have Bergvall + Bentancur/Sarr as our roaming 8s behind the front 4.
We may not score as many goals, but we'd be a lot less erratic and actually CONTROL games a bit better.
absolutely...if we did this we'd have more points and wouldn't concede this many comedy goals - the defense wouldn't be sprinting around like headless chickens and I'm sure we'd have less muscle injuries

I’d love to have a chat with every Celtic fan, I've struck up a conversation with, who told me Ange was the best thing to ever happen to the club and guaranteed success—only for him to go down as one of the worst managers in PL history.

It would seem that success in Scotland doesn’t always translate (who knew right?), and honestly, i'd say its a bit embarrassing for Celtic or Scottish football that he’s struggled this much after the plaudits they gave him for his time in scotland.

My best mate is a celtic fan, at the start he was raging when I'd slag off Ange lol said it was like your best mate stealing the love of your life only to tell you how shite in bed she is.

I think the whole system is massively over reliant on Solanke and VdV. And for the most part they're not enough. If a system requires 1970 Brazil to show it in all its glory, its probably not the most advised system.

In the end you're limited to how many extra special players that are available. The margins, edges, and percentages are very fine at the top. Ange theory gives way too many of those away much to cheaply.

He is selling something under valued (defence) in an attempt to gain something over valued (attack). It doesn't work in life and it will not work in sport.

Spurs are a big club with big name players. The problem is that in the PL a lot of clubs have that. Thinking all would be over whelmed and crumble took a bit of magical thinking at the start to become a form of insanity week after week.

Sure.

Forget a pup - it shouldn't take 2 years to see you've been sold a diseased mongrel.

The predictable slide into an alternate reality by some fellow fans has been hilarious in a pathetic way.

Something like Leo's wife in Inception, they were/are soo far gone they were/are willing to kill us and the club to somehow prove that Ange was the real deal despite all the increasing evidence.

They need their own totems at this point lol

In fairness to our Scottish friends, I don’t think Ange’s tactics wouldn’t work at any SPFL team other than Celtic

its very telling everything looks so disjointed now. There is no fluidity, the players can barely pass to each other. It is a big sign the players have lost faith in the manager and its the end of his tenure. He simply has to go.

The system just fully leaves the players hung out to dry. The Constant bombing forward of all Cms, no one covering for each other, the amount of times the Cms are pressing opposition fullbacks with no one covering the centre, the fullbacks both just so high every bloody time.

There is a reason you don't want both your fullbacks as attacking 8s in situations, they are Cms for a reason, they arent 10s for a reason, I get having one inverted fullback to create overloads in the middle of the park, but both inverted is just so dumb.

Mostly agree but then those with a tender heart want to believe in the diseased mongrel - nurse it back to health, support it, believe it and so forth .. 100% that it’s annoying but if you’re true Spurs then I won’t be too harsh… the Ozzie Ange fan boys who aren’t Spurs can F off of course.

its damaged scottish football really. big clubs will think twice before hiring a 'successful' manager from rangers or celtic again....proper embarrassing stuff.

Multiple times this moron blamed the supporters yesterday, once in his post match interview and then once in the post match presser.

This is what he does when he starts to try and create a narrative, he did it with injuries, every opportunity he brought them up and now he’s just going to do the same thing with the supporters and atmosphere.

It’s so transparent, by far the worst manager we have ever had as far as I am concerned both in terms of performance and personality, his ego is completely unearned and blaming the supporters is frankly, fucking pathetic.

He gets paid a fortune to manage this football club and many of the supporters who are getting bled dry because they love this football club are having to sit there and watch the absolute fucking dross he is serving up.

I can’t believe anybody that loves this club could still support this twat.
