Match Tottenham Hotspur VS Eintracht Frankfurt. Thursday 10th April 2025. 8pm KO

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

People just don’t care as much. That’s all.

CL QF and Semi home at first to City and Ajax. Place was jumping Anga noisy as hell!

Tickets were more expensive. People just cared about it a lot more. Fantastic nights.

Everyone who is going week in week out is fed up with Angeball. And Ange!!

It's echoed on here. Completely agree, but I also think it's less about Angeball, a term I detest but more so because less and less people believe, and because we don't have the superstar

Forgive me for saying, but a player like Saka adds 1000s to the crowd. He just makes you think it's possible. We have nobody even close to that at present.

There is next to zero chance we can do to Frankfurt what Woolwich did to mighty Madrid, and the fans know it.

I know why people are so downbeat about this but it’s a European quarter final for fuck sake. I don’t want Ange as our manager but I can get past that. I think this is as good an opportunity to win a European trophy we’ll ever get. Those hating it just now who are saying they can’t get themselves up for this will still be scrambling to go to the final if we got there.

Exactly this. Look at Woolwich last night, their season in the league has gone poorly for what they wanted, some bad injuries yet the crowd and the players came out and gave everything, we need to get behind the team and give it our all.

We have lost 20 matches or so this season. Belief is earned as Is enthusiasm and trust.

It goes without saying that everyone is behind the team. It's just a bit hard at present to emote it in a tangible and forceful manner.

agree it's just people trying to delude themselves into thinking it doesn't matter to help with what we all assume will be bitterly disappointing. making out like it's some mickey mouse cup despite the fact the fans and the club still harp on about events over 40 years ago so obviously not mickey mouse.
it's our biggest game post CL final .

I can only hope that the players, especially the senior ones like Vic, Porro, Romero, Son, Bentancur, Maddison and Solanke recognize this opportunity and play out of their skin for hopefully the next 5 European games

If we show up tactically and dominate, indicating that Ange and his team have been focusing hard on EF and getting us to a trophy and the CL, then fair play. Perhaps even understandable as to why we’ve been so god awful in the league. But if it’s more of the same turgid, soft, suicidal football, then I’d sack him before the second leg. This is a huge opportunity for the club to get back to the upper tier of English clubs. If we fuck it up, then it’s also a huge risk we get left irreparably far behind.

Yep. You look at previous cup wins and we had match winners.

Who stands out now?

Top league scorer Brennan Johnson? Super number 10 James Maddison?

Sons best days are definitely behind him but I just hope there’s a bit of magic left in those boots still.

Have you tried explaining that to Christians, Muslims, Buddhists or any religious person for that matter?

Belief is irrational. If you say it needs to be earned then you are saying it should be rational.

We absolutely should and tbh we HAVE to believe we can win the EL. If we don't believe it then we definitely won't win it.

Sure, it's hard... but so?

Mate, I like a lot of your posts even where I disagree with their content.

Whilst I believe football fanhood is akin to religious belief at a central level (at times), your attempt at an analogy in this instance is poor.

Best to leave it at that. If our fans had belief in this team,it would already be a sell out on Thursday. It's earned.

I've given up on this game and fixture after watching Woolwich beat Real Madrid 3-0 last night. Its just one of many doom weeks to be a Spurs fan. Total misery. I can't see how we go and turn this week into a positive now. Its all gone to shit.

I'm not saying I don't understand those who can't bring themselves to believe.

Still think the point stands. If we only ever believed in things that had earned our belief, we wouldn't have much to believe in.

Bookies wouldn't exist and weathermen would all be unemployed.

it's going to require tactical cuteness at this stage unfortunately, which i don't think Ange is capable of tbh. we can't just try and hammer them into submission with Ange ball.

He needs to be tactically mindful of Gotze and Ekitike on the transition ,need a big game from Bentancur as Larsson is a bit of a brutish force in their midfield also
