The role of "selling club" applies to 99% of clubs in football. We've just not been good at selling over the last decade or so outside of the odd big sale.
Frustrating though if we are back to selling our best players every Summer and then replacing them with younger players. Maybe this was always the club motto and the last 10 years just felt differently because we had world class players like Kane and Son. Now it feels like if we have any players who are even close to being world class then they'll be sold.

Our biggest problem is our midfield - Madison, Bissouma and Becantour are just not playing consistently at the requisite standard - Madison goes missing and his good play does not compensate for his patchiness, Bissouma looks disinterested and is "foul prone" and Becantour simply does not display the requisite quality.
If we can fix the midfield then our attacking options will inevitably improve. And Son becomes far less important to the team.
