Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Gray is one of those players who will end up at City to replace Rodri...

Bergwall is the type of player who will end up at Liverpool and thrive...

Romero is already mentally wearing a famous white shirt... Just not ours!

We'll no doubt extend Bissouma's contract!

WE'RE the problem, not some of our better players!

A good manager shoots us up the table.

Ange is the issues the squad is top 6 IMO

Somebody not blinded by both their ignorance and past choices. We don't even have to spend any money and we'll look vastly more exciting than now- and be much more effective too.

Dom
Moore-Madds-Odo
Berg-Gray
Udog-VdV-Dans-Djed

Iraola/Silva/Frank/et al could all absolutely cook with this core. Anybody with half a brain could.

Eh that front 6 are practically in nappies mate. You aren’t scoring many with Moore and Odobert as your wingers. They’re both kids and hugely likely to be inconsistent. Solanke doesn’t score enough on his own to deal with that. Bergvall and Gray would be good at U21 level but porous and undisciplined against senior premier league teams.

Our back five I think is pretty much ok - we probably need a left back to wake up Udogie and one to replace Romero when he goes.

Ange is fucking tragic but whoever comes in needs 200-250m of money well spent on senior striker players to blend with these kids. We need wingers who score badly. And a proper central midfielder in or approaching his prime. As an emergency.

We will of course after that disgusting statement Levy made, get nothing. Gray, Bergvall, VDV, Odobert, Moore, Spence is a really exciting crop of talent but it needs reinforcing with senior talent. So many of these players are raw ingredients needing coaching - physically and technically good but struggle a lot with other elements of the premier league game.

It's a core with which to work- and with all sales out, the new manager should have 150m or so to spend. Obviously I'm not expecting Moore to be our starter at RW, but on the other hand it'd be very easy for him to take his chance and become a starter within 1-2 seasons.

This squad has talent and potential. If you can't make something out of that and 150m you're just a bad manager.

We should be able to compete for EL spots next season at a minimum.

150m gets you two good players now.

A lot of managers imo would struggle to get top 6 with that front 6. It’s essentially a youth midfield and attack with Solanke. How many premier league goals and assists does Odobert have? Moore has what, one assist?

You’d need an utterly exceptional crop of talent for that to work - very few players are a Yamal or a Rooney. I don’t see any of our talent being of that level.

These guys should mostly be in the squad and contributing, not starting every week imo. We need a senior player to replace Son’s contributions, we still haven’t replaced Kanes.

I agree there is talent here but some of it is overhyped by the fanbase and isn’t ready yet. Villa in Jan went out and signed 3 relatively unexciting footballers but all 3 are senior, in their prime and contribute g/a historically.

Bro- I straight up said you can spend 150m- on LW and anywhere else you think looks weak.

This is a template to add to. This is a picture of what our future looks like.

No offense but everyone here expecting two top level signings this next summer are deluded- especially with the global economy right now I guarantee you we will not make more than one 50m+ signing this next window.

:levywhoa:

Would help if we spent the year playing him in his actual position.

He’s a kid, he’s got a bright future. There are bigger issues on that pitch than a kid being played out of position.
Yeah but this kid cost 40 million and other kids, like Mikey Moore and one or two others have been binned.

What is it about Gray that gets him game time?

I genuinely want to be persuaded.

When every other player in this squad is playing below par this isn't a player problem, it's a manager/system/mentality problem.

Nonsense. Of course we have a manager problem but if this was a team packed full of really top talent, there's no way it would be battling Wolves for 16th place. There's very clearly a deficiency of both strategy AND talent and anybody saying otherwise is clueless.

The squad is decent in some areas but severely lacking in others, and we have fans overrating potential.

Maybe ask to watch him in training. Then you might get an idea.

I’ve seen highlights from last season, he was very strong in a mens league. We’ve paid the 40m more for the potential and because others were interested. It seems a crazy amount of money but it exactly the sort of thing many would criticise had we not done it, ie Grealish etc.

Also the lack of proper depth means we have not many options when we are rotating. Spence played LB. Udogie and Porro rested. Micky rested so Davies played LCB. Danso and Dragusin injured.
