Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The Tottenham Way podcast this week has a good analysis of what to expect from them. Especially away from home where it sounds like the pitch is very fast and a defenders nightmare. The expert they had on there said we need a 3 or 4 goal lead to make sure we go through! 😂

Royal Tottenham 👑 Royalties are going to Bodø to see the game!

King Harald V of Norway, age 88, is well known to be a Tottenham supporter, and now Norwegian media report that his daughter in law, Crown Princess Mette Marit, and his grandson, Prince Sverre, are attending the game..

May we see the pair of them in lillywhite?
Ah, good.

As their King, he should order them to lose to Tottenham.

Thanks, Your Norwegian Majesty!

For me, this season started watching us being completely outplayed by a very average QPR team in a PSF. Sadly, we haven’t looked much better than that all year. Being in the EL semis is the biggest stroke of undeserved luck we’ve had in all my years following Spurs. I do still expect us to get through and hope we can muster a miracle performance in Bilbao. If we somehow fail on Thursday, the atmosphere will become unimaginably toxic. I can’t believe how unenthused I am about a major semi final though. Can’t remember feeling so disconnected to the club, the squad and everything to do with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. I’ll be there on Thursday hoping mostly that I see something and feel something that make me proud to be Spurs again. UTS.
Was that the one where the 8 minute Youtube highlights video was 95% us just spamming shit cutbacks into a packed penalty area just to labour to a 2-0 win?

Maybe Angeball is attacking football, but Jesus Christ it's bloody painful to watch...

About time we had some luck. One season when Woolwich won the cup they drew two non lge clubs in 4th and 5th rounds. Beat Hull City and a poor Villa side in finals . Who cares. If we can rescue our season, I won’t be saying it was lucky. That was lucky getting a stupid pen against us in a champ lge final in the first minute, wasn’t it.
Bodo have beaten a number of top clubs in Norway, it’s no easy game.

Just going back through the match thread now and seeing what I put. Lots of moaning about the attack being shit, especially Werner and Johnson. Most posters unimpressed.

Pre season really was quite the indicator we would be poor this season.

Barely scraping by South Korean All-Star teams was also a huge indicator.

People say you shouldn't put too much stock in pre-season games, but to me that just means don't get carried away by huge scorelines against low quality, or out of shape, sides. Not that you should excuse shitness.

You play a bunch of part timers, or a cobbled together squad from some pub league, or the Son Heung-Min Fan Club Select XI, then you should be putting up a cricket score without breaking much of a sweat.

Who was it, the fucking Singapore Seamen or something that gave us a competitive game that ended 4-3 or something like that???

I'm actually getting annoyed thinking about it!

And I willl celebrate wildly. We need at least a 2 goal lead. Probably 3,given our flakey nature and propensity for drama.
Barring a couple of outliers, our football under Ange has been a matter of maximum risk, minimal reward. If they turn up with anything approaching a remotely coherent plan to frustrate us, then there's zero chance of us scoring 3, meanwhile our gung-ho idiocy will ensure that they have at least 2 or 3 clear opportunities on goal without really having to try.

I get hoping for the best, but anyone actually expecting us to go out and kill the tie in the first leg should probably consider hiring a full time carer due to reduced mental capacity.

I haven't checked the odds, but I imagine Bodo to score first is as close to printing money as you can get.

Good post and made me laugh. You would think tears aplenty if we are subjected to that lot doing the infinitely harder task of putting PSG to the sword tonight, whilst we play pussycat football on Thursday. It genuinely worries me.

The one reason why I do think we will get 2 or 3 I'd that in the much maligned Johnson and the usually injured Richarlison, we have 2 players who this kind of game is made for...... I think.

Its Crazy that we have the worst manager I have known, yet he is potentially 3 Games away from being remembered as the guy who went one step further from Poch, Jose and Conte and actually delivered Silverware to the club!
I know its not the CL but the EL is still a massive Trophy and if we do get over the line with Ange in charge then he can walk off into the sunset a Legend, I know a lot of us aint really keen on him, myself included in that but if he does deliver a Trophy then fair play Ange, the second Season Cheat code is legit!
