Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ange is hiding behind results with these, comments, soundbites etc.
A club of our resources should , be able to, combine cup runs and a higher league performance.
He is trying to shift the focus that, the league performances have been affected by going all the way in Europe.
It's total BS, and it's wrong of him to.hide behind a pathetic set of league results, worst manager the club had had in decades.
Yeah it’s like his saying the results would have been much better. Like when we lost to Ipswich at home or Leicester with nearly full strength sides. Don’t think Leicester have won a game since. Yet he can say that bs with a straight fa e.

you obvioulsy didnt see any of the match v Palace at the weekend?

Or the games v Ipswich, AFCB, FFC, Palace away, the mighty Tamworth etc? LFC away? Villa away? How many more examples do you need for players to be going through the motions for someone they KNOW will be fired within a couple of weeks?
I didn't, maybe there should be a player clean out then if they are not putting in!
After all no player is bigger than the club.

It is crazy though, I reckon you would be hard pushed to find any team with as many losses as us, that far down the table at this point of a Season and still have a positive goal difference of 4 (though to be fair, after the next 2 games that could be negative. ) Not sure what my point is, but just shows what a crap show it has been.
We e let in 59 goals now I think so on track to beat last season.

My real concern is that by not getting rid in the summer, all of our current targets become unobtainable by October.
We will also have to either buy players for a coach who is going to leave, or not buy any at all, leaving the next guy in a tricky situation. So that'll be next season written off as well.

You’ve also seen through Levy’s plan I see!

By keeping Ange he can write off next season too if he sacks him in November. Then it’s another year of standing still and not having to properly invest.

Losing the dressing room or not, isn't the issue.

Losing twenty Premier League games, plus losses in the domestic cups is down to the manager irrespective if the priority is the EL (or any cup for that matter).

I posted this week the Spurs team v Everton a few days before the CL final v Liverpool, and you can look back at the previous games to that game as well. Poch played more or less the same team as played in that CL Final.

Ange and his training methods caused those hamstring injuries, and he admitted that this was also the case in his time at Celtic, you can look this up yourself.

His excuses of too many injuries, not enough games, now too many games are getting tiresome. He himself stated in February that when he had a full squad to select from "you would see a different Spurs side".

Since that statement we have gone on to lose another seven PL games and have been knocked out of the two legged Caribou Cup semi final in humiliating fashion . We have won once in eleven games (to the mighty Saints)

The EL is a shit Cup made up of also rans, where UEFA have had to put an incentive of CL qualification in order for clubs to give a shit. If that wasn't the case Ange would have played yesterdays starting eleven in the EL not unlike our previous four managers have.

When have Scouse, Woolwich and City played a bunch of kids week in week out in the PL, and they have played as many games as us.

Ange is using the EL as his swansong, nothing more nothing less. He knows that the mess he is causing he can walk away from in two weeks time and fuck the consequences.

Anyone who can't see through this fraud is in denial.
He's also likes to remind us that Spurs haven't won a trophy in forever and plays into this.

He must have realised last season that he'd been found out in the PL and had no answers. So this season he figures I'll go all out for EL as it's the easiest one to win and then I get to be that man that finally brought a trophy to Spurs. It was the only way to salvage his reputation in his mind.

The second he said I always win a trophy in my second season his mind will be obsessed with this. He went all out for a league cup too at the expense of anything else or stability. A fucking league cup.

Or the 90 minutes of normal time vs non fucking league fucking Tamfuckingworth.

Literally got fans giving Flange a free pass in the league for making changes, but dissing previous coaches for doing EXACTLY that in the Europa league and going out.
Ange isn't special for getting Spurs to this final. He's just flipped the priority on its head. Other coaches like Poch and Conte made us competitive in the league and got us CL that way.
This guy has decided it's easier to play 15 games against teams who's names sound like wifi passwords, than 38 games against professional football teams. He's literally thrown away league games all season in exactly the same way as previous coaches threw away Europa games.

2016 - R16 Europa League Vs Dortmund. Look.
Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Nobody should be treating this season as some special Ange sauce led success. He's just played a stronger team than prior coaches have.
Not really fair to compare that 2016 Dortmund team to any of the teams we've faced in this years Europa League . They were genuinely Champions League caliber.

It is tribalism for you just your tribe is obsessed with Ange.

I doubt you even watched the press conference for either of them. You are probably reacting to social media quotes/clips
I watch most of Ange’s press conferences.

I remember the one after losing to Fulham in the league cup last year where he played a weakened team. He said trophies won’t define us, he’s much more interested in the journey and changing the mentality of the club, week in/week out.

And now 18 months later, for Ange and for ppl like you, the league form - clearly the main journey of any season - is irrelevant compared to winning a trophy.
Care to explain? Everyone contradicts themselves from time to time but this is macro strategy/philosophy stuff and from my viewpoint it sounds like Ange changes it to suit the current situation he’s in. And that’s all sorts of unimpressive isn’t it?

Jesus Christ.

Mourinho and Conte's efforts don't look that bad when you consider the shower they were working with.
Gollini, Tanganga, Rodon, Sanchez, Sess, Skipp, Ndombele, Doherty, Dele, Gil and Kane.

So, how hoes that 11 compare to

Kinsky, Davies, Porro, Gray, Davies, Spence, Sarr, Bentancur, Kulu, Odobert, Tel

The difference is; one of them got into a European Final, the other fizzled out at the last 16.

If we lose the final and come 17th it’s going to be one hell of a humiliation for the club.

Not quite as humiliating as coming third in a 2 horse race; and leaving with no trophy. I get reminded of Poch's comedy fuck up almost daily by my scouser mates. Thankfully they have now moved onto Arteta, who has 'Done a Poch'.

Is coming 16th in the Premier League any different to coming 16th in the Europa / Champions League?

If a manager gets 4th in the league but is knocked out of all cups in the first round/league stage, people say that manager has done a good job. If a manager gets Europa League final, carling cup semi final but struggles in the league he is considered an absolute idiot and has no idea what he’s doing. I struggle to make sense of this.

I think he deserves another season based on what has happened in the cups…

Completely agree. We are in 4 competitions this season, have reached a final in 1, and a semi final in another.

Once the injuries mounted up, we did not have the squad to compete across all 4 competitions - so we had to pick our battles. The signings in Jan came too late to salvage the Premier League.

I don’t understand putting up with getting thrashed week in and week out because we progressed in the Europa league. His overall win rate, even in all comps is abysmal. The worst part of it all is our defending, it’s up there with the worst in the league.

He has produced a handful of brilliant all out attacking performances and I’m grateful for getting this far in Europe. All we need is one more good version of Ange ball, the kind that we don’t concede first, have only 1 or 2 shots on target and end up with two players injured. I’m fully backing Ange for the Final, but that’s it.

We have to be consistently good, not dreadful and lucky.

If we were found out last season; explain why 1/3rd of the way through this season we were just 4 points off 2nd place, having just beaten the league champions?

Agree. It is completely unacceptable and an insult to our season ticket holders that we have not performed in the EPL. My view is that existing season ticket holders should be given a significant discount for next season (circa 50%).

However, we have to have a balanced view to understand what drove these decisions.

- An injury list that no other prem team has EVER had to contend with
- A number of squad players that were clearly below the required level to be playing regular games (Biss, Werner, Davies, Gray, Reggie, Bergvall, Sarr, Spence)
