2019 destroyed me. Honestly I was so affected by that defeat psychologically. Football wasnt the same and hasnt been since. Now it is a weight off my shoulders. I can just go to games and enjoy being there. That win last night has lifted off so much pressure and it probably hasnt even really sunk in yet. I think that will come for all of us in the next few years and I'm looking forward to seeing this thread randomly bumped when someone posts in it saying they suddenly thought about the game or remembered something that happened to them or in the game last night.

I said to my kids before the game last night (as I had to prepare them for in case we lost) that as they know the life of a Spurs fan isnt an easy one, but when we have that small bit of glory, and it may be tonight, you've got to embrace it, celebrate it, love it. If it doesnt happen tonight, then dont worry, it will and it will be great......it did happen, and it was.

That's a great read mate.

It must be like being seriously constipated and then sitting on the toilet for hours.

Just for reference, I don't get constipated or sit on the toilet for hours, but you get my drift!!!!

No more but you don't/ can't win anything,at least for a long while.

And only now will I consider the potential knock-on effect on transfers etc. The question of the manager remains very clear to me, but that debate starts Sundat @ 18:00.

Couldn't agree more.

The CL final broke me. I was already in a deeply miserable place and that game was such a huge disappointment on top of all the others.

Last night felt like washing away years of pain and oddly enough I genuinely think it will help psychologically.

Now bring on the Super Cup!

Yeah fans of other clubs keep asking me what do I want to do about the manager. I honestly couldnt care less for a while. I just want to enjoy winning this trophy. They wont get it, it isnt their fault, they havent been us, being the undeserved butt of jokes, getting so close to the big prizes and falling short. They just dont understand. They dont get how big celebrating this is for us.

People moaning about the way we won last night, firstly I couldn't give a fuck , in a 1 off game all that matters is getting over the line, however when we are missing Maddison, Kulu and Bergvail what are we actually meant to do ?

Any way who gives a fuck, we got the cup!!!! :ange-arms:

I felt confident yesterday but had creeping suspicion that the old Tottenham angel of death would creep over us. Especially after going 1-0 up.

As Brian Fantana Brian Fantana said (great post by the way) 2019 killed me football wise and it has been hard, watching the downfall of the Poch area and languishing limply from manager to manager. I couldn't watch the extra time last night and had my wife shout the minute countdown to me in the kitchen as I paced back and forth, tears already welling but I constantly clawed them back through fear of jinxing the last bit of the game.

That didn't happen and I fell to my knees genuinely unable to contain the release from within and even sobbed at one point. 17 years of genuine pain and struggle and this is what it is all about.

I told my 5 year old to go to school and tell everyone that Spurs are champions, let them hear it and tell them again.

Enjoy it everyone, don't let anyone try to undermine it. We are champions.

Up the Spurs.

Totally agree. The CL final, that great side not seeing it through and the fallout really made me feel almost indifferent, not helped by Mourinho and terrible board decisions. I've basically not liked much about the club in 6 years almost to the point i was losing interest. Stopped going, didnt even bother with membership Its great to know the passion is still there after nights like last night.

You can all thank me for the win.

Got up at 04.50am to get to the gym before work.
Checked weather - dry.
Got on the train at 05.28am
Threw coffee down my white shirt at 05.50am
Got off train - raining fucking sideways. No coat. No brolly.
Get to work at 9am with loads of work and cancel a coffee meeting at 10am to crack on.
Fucking fire drill kicks us out for an hour at 10 on the dot.
Multiple meetings prevent me catching up on work all day. Bolt at 5pm for the train....
Fire at Hither Green. Trains totally fuckinh fucked.
Try to book an Uber. App needs updating. LB 4g non existent. Watching it. 1%. 2%. 3%. 4%.
FMFL!!!
App updates. Book Uber. Walk to meeting point.
Fucking great big lorry in front of Uber decides to park and unload. I was about to have a nervous, stress induced breakdown at this point when a man in a high vis vest came running towards the driver and basically told him to F off.
Winding through London traffic it's now after 6pm and I'm worried. But as soon as we go through the silvertown tunnel traffic parts and my Uber driver, who doesn't speak a word of English just fucking nails it all the way to Bexley to collect the car.
Eventually reach home at 19.20, finish the takeaway i picked up en route and literally sit down to put the match on with family bang on kick off.

Yesterday my job was to be the bad luck magnet.
And I caught it ALL.
Thank fuck for you!

I was the same last night, I kept thinking we will get so close and then the sucker punch would come, but it never - I really hope as a club we can build on this, we have a very good group of young players who have now tasted success and will be hungry for more, last night really was a revolving doors moment for the club, it was arguably the biggest game in our PL history, even bigger then the CL final as literally everything was on the line, if we lost our season would just be remembered as coming 17th, however even with all that on the Line, the players won!!!!
We now have European football again next season and with Fabio back on the scene we have a real opportunity to put this club back where it belongs!!!
