I don't get the criticism of the performance at all.

We were mostly composed and dealt with everything thrown at us. Sure the goal was scrappy but even before then I thought we controlled the game.

Also who cares... CHAMPIONS 😎
Bingo.

Finals are usually not free flowing examples of "how the game should be played" to begin with.

Finals aren't played, they are fought.

Great point! I've scrubbed that league cup final from my memory so always forgot that it was sandwiched between the Fiorentina ties.

Was a horrible day out! I don’t blame you!

I think the EL one that sticks in my mind most is the one we threw in Germany.
Played the kids. Got thrashed.
Bloody annoying.
People spend a lot of money to get to those games.

Just popping by as someone who preferred to stay out of the negative experience the last 8 years or so became. It has been a long time since I believed we could actually win something, and now I feel like that weight has been lifted. Hopefully it is the same for the club, as we've been in so many semis and finals and never really had the "win at all costs" mentality that the cup winners have. No one will remember the stats or care about how it was done, but we've done it.

Was never in any doubt to me, in reality, as you can tell by my fitness tracker 'stress' graph ... :ange-lips:

He got the team selection spot on.

You’ve probably seen more of Ange’s teams than most on here.
Are you surprised how pragmatic he’s become in this competition?

Yes, very much so.

Do you think he would approach the CL in the sane way next season?

I believe this season has been a learning, growth and development experience for him, a real wake up call. I hope the penny has dropped for him that he can't be that rigid and predictable no matter what the context. So with that I'm unsure as to what he will actually do.

I wonder how he would upgrade the squad too.

There is a lack of player leadership and that's why IMO he has said he needs experience to come into the squad. He needs a mid-field anchor to screen the back s and he needs outside wingers.

Exactly. Finals are so rarely open, entertaining events. Its about getting the job done and we handled it excellently.

We can have nice things.
Still can’t quite believe it.

Been reading through all the posts today—so many of you talking about watching it with your dad, or your kids. Got me properly choked up, not gonna lie. This club has always been bigger than just football. It’s memories, family, shared pain, and—finally—shared f**king joy.

For so long I’ve carried that thought: we can’t have nice things. Every time we dared to believe, something would go wrong. It felt like it was written into the DNA of being Spurs. But last night? Last night we broke it. We did it. We do have nice things. This is ours.

And god, do I love these lads. The way they’ve carried themselves, the fight, the heart. They deserve every second of this. You could see what it meant to them—this wasn’t just a paycheck, it was pride, it was belief, it was Spurs.

Soak it in, people. Every second. Hug your dad, your son, your mates. We've waited our whole lives for a night like that.

Spurs are back. And this time, we’re not going anywhere.

There weren’t groups this year so teams approached the format differently.

There’s no way to know other than the final league tame from this year
I agree its not an exact science, more teams in it, no groups so its just going off roughly on form what would have likey happened and all those shitty teams would have probably finished bottom and gone out. They'd have been at least a couple of pretty good teams dropping in. The competition is much better for that not happening though.

All I’ve ever wanted was to see us lift a European trophy and I’ll be content. The stories my dad would tell about 84 and obviously our 80’s cup wins. I have been praying all season to win this cup, I can’t actually believe we’ve done it. I honestly thought we’d have to wait another 10 years. You fucking beauties!
