I think it's pretty clear for next season - if he is willing to accept that he doesn't play every match (or even most matches) and the commercial benefit stacks up, then why not have another season if that's what he and a new manager wants.
One thing very notable in the final was that the famous Son 'afterburners' are gone. Even with the benefit of fresh legs, his former lighting pace on the break was absent. We all remember the times when he could run faster with the ball than most players without it - but that is no longer the case, and without it he just isn't half the threat. The Utd defence caught him fairly easily.
Unfortunately under OG 'Angeball' he had become a liability. We would press high, and then opposition would double up on Son knowing that he is likely to turn over the ball under pressure - allowing them a fast break as we stupidly overload our attack in the final 3rd. Under 'defensive' Ange that's less of an issue, but now you need his pace... which is becoming less of a weapon.
If he goes now, he goes as a legend and on a high. If I was him, I know what I'd choose.
