Maddison said Ange call was the reason he chose us over Newcastle. They were offering bigger wages.

Tel was the same. That was nothing to do with wages

Barca would have been offering Bergvall bigger wages.

It’s pretty much indisputable that Ange is outstanding and recruitment phone calls.

Ange is one of the most extreame managers I have ever seen.

A+ recruitment
A+ inspiration of players
D tactics
D flexibility (would have been lower but he changed for the EL)

If he had taken a page out of Fergie. Fergie used to hire assistant managers to coach new styles of football when he needed to adapt, one of the least egotistical things I have heard in my entire life from Fergie a man with a big ego.

Ange really needs to hire an elite tactical number two who is elite at coaching and let him get on with it while he manages the overall situation.

Ange seems a brilliant manager but poor coach.

I feel like a lot of people out there, don't quite grasp what 17th and 22 defeats actually is.. The idea that it can shrugged off and we go again. No. It's historically atrocious. A level of shit that can't be rectified..

The trophy was incredible.. The best night we've had many of us supporting Tottenham..

But 90 minutes of football, cannot turn a manager from being statistically the worst in our history, to one that is untouchable.
Worth remembering that a couple of seasons ago the fan disconnect with the squad was bad enough that they basically had to be cajoled into doing a lap of honour in the final home game (funnily enough, a loss to Frank's Brentford).

That was (rightfully) considered an awful year, with Conte imploding and us finishing in 8th with no Europe on 60 points.

I am unfathomably thrilled by winning the Europa League and I'm not surprised that it completely dominates how we feel about the end of the season, but if we hadn't have pulled it off then just look at how much worse our league performance was than two years ago. Was looking at past seasons and Leicester's bottom-at-Christmas escape from relegation in the season before they won the league ended with 41 points. Three more than us this year. It's crazy, regardless of prioritising Europe.

"Dressing room backlash"??

What they gonna do, go on strike?!

Or what is it...oh noes, it might affect them too much and they could start losing games?

Stop with the bullshit and get this clown gone.

Players have had it too easy doing what they want on the pitch with zero discipline.

It's not some sort of playground here to lose games for fun.

They are paid to train and play when selected.

They are not a Union to make demands on the executive or they down tools.

Fuck is even going on here.
Dressing room revolt. Bollox to them. They need to work harder next season. Were not a holiday camp.

Frank has never managed a team competing in europa or champions league. Has never managed a high performing team, and has no experience of being a winner. He plays long ball football, which is onlt really good enough to get you on the cusp of top half.

What makes you think he would succeed at Spurs ???
Bournemouth played the most long balls in the prem lge last season. He’s not going to win trophies with Brentford. Poch and Eddie Howe never managed in euro comps. Neither had Maresca, only done one season in the champ. Clueless post.
Thomas Frank…come on down.

After producing our worst league finish in 48 years and our worst points total in 90 years they have some brass neck making any demands. They have it easy, never criticised no consequences to losing, none of those drills that the nasty man Conte made them do or the torture training from Poch. If they love him so much they should have shown it in the league in the last 18 months.

Tbh Ange and the board have made mediocre managers look good. We had poch where we dismantled teams. Dubious as well whether Howe is as good as everyone makes out. Poch different class imo and not even in same conversation. Ok he won league cup but has bottomless pit.

Or, at least, be responsible enough and have enough self-awareness to accept that he was the core reason they weren't able to.

If they're going to sack him it needs to be done tomorrow. No point dragging it out any longer. Get the new guy in within a week and focus on the new season.
I think it will, being honest. Likely the reason for the press to start hinting at it today (probably a club leak).

If he was going to stay then it would have been announced in the past week. If the choice was to sack then Levy and co knew that it needed at least a week's break from the final day to not look completely brutal.

Heavyweight ITK.

If Levy had to think about it this hard, hes a goner.

It's a bit ironic that if you type 'Daniel Levy' into Giphy.com, all that comes up is a series of images of an overtly gay actor from a comedy show called Schitt's Creek.

Yeah, the players will virtue signal for a bit, but when it comes down to it, they’ll knuckle down.

I think Romero was going one way or another any way. The Little Argentina of Atleti is just too enticing for him.

Why would Frank join us? He’s got a good thing going at Brentford and makes only slightly less money than Ange.

So unless Levy doubles Frank’s wage - why would Frank join a club he finished 8 places above with much higher expectations that has a history of sacking managers?

To be fair to Howe he has done incredibly well to last as long up there as he has, and he seems to have a lot of buy-in with their fans. I was sure he would come in, save them from relegation, get them up the table a bit and get binned off (i expected it the summer just gone) for a sexier name to make them CL competitors, so for him to be going into a 5th season having got them in the CL twice and won a cup I don't think you can sniff at his achievements, one of the best English coaches in recent years for sure.

Disingenuous argument, anyone with half a brain can see a club like Tottenham Hotspur has a much higher ceiling than Brentford. Plenty of clubs tread water in mid table at PL level then get the soul ripped out of the team and go down within a couple of seasons, Damsgaard is already reportedly off to Real with heavy interest in Mbeumo, not hard to see why Frank might see a good chance to jump ship while his stock is high at a big club with lowered league expectations following a 17th placed finish.
Really I can't believe why I'd have to answer to a Tottenham fan why a manager might rather manage us than Brentford but there we go.
