Transfers The Summer Transfer Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That’s who he reminded me of in that England game. Lots of passes back to where it came from. He done it at a reasonable tempo but at the same time killed a lot of forward momentum by never taking it on the back foot, or passing it round the corner. Passing for the sake of it and without any thought about building an attack. On a free I guess.
he changed angles and chopped the ball around a bit, wasn’t all backwards like Winks. Nice touch too, always showed for the ball but TBH I could play DM for Eng in most qualifiers and look ok

Imagine they had a functioning club and performance environment to bring these players into.

They don’t though, luckily
And signing up players that value a few extra £k per week on top of the 100's of ks they are being offered elsewhere only contributes to that further.

Maybe the club have reacted a bit too adversely to the sting of the Ndombele transfer, but we'd be foolish not to take any lesson from it.

You also can't hide from the fact that many of the signings we throw the biggest money at seem to be huge disappointments.

Not a problem for United though.

That's united for you. Said it in another post today but players of a certain age will have grown up watching the win everything and still see this period as ephemeral.

I don't really see the point at all in inventing any reasons why they might (if you believe the engagement-bait tweets) sign him over any other club.

At the end of the day, they're getting their marquee signing from a mid-table brentford side. A bit of a lower point than normal for united - no matter how decent his form has been.

for me a wing FW for both sides and a decent back up 9 are required as well as a Left sided defender

BUT no 1 priority has to be a proper 6 a Ball winner and retainer, who can take the ball on the turn and find a pass. They seem to be hard to find. Ideally I want prime Kante but we need someone for that position, we've conceded so many goals because the defense doesn't get the protection from Biss or Bentancur or Sarr etc.

We need three good footballers into the 11, I don’t think the position is critical - if we had Eze, Mbeumo and prime Berba the lack of a 6 wouldn’t matter

That said, 6 that can play is probably the most pressing but I wouldn’t obsess about filling positions as a priority. Sign good players and it will all wash out
