No, Howe didn’t finish 17th, he got Bournemouth relegated. Why couldn’t Frank do as well as Howe . Bournemouth had Russian money behind them.
Don’t think you realise what an achievement it is to get Brentford to top half in 2 seasons out of 4. No bigger than Carlisle Utd really.
What had Poch done, Burkinshaw, Bill Nick. Ferguson before he went to Aberdeen. Managers need a chance at big clubs, I hope we give him a chance.
Just a point on Pep. First season as a manager won La liga with Barca. City…3rd in first season. Wrong on both counts. Or even wrong on all counts.
Absolute rubbish.

Touched a nerve i guess.

You'd take Howe in a heartbeat over the Aussie fraud.

As for going back to all our yesterdays, what the fuck has that got to do with Frank.

:porrogasp:

We can spend that without falling foul of PSR, doesn't necessarily mean the club has that much money available, or that we would spend it of we do...

Like the maximum contactless payment with a debit card being £100, doesn't mean much if you only have a fiver in the bank...

Or real estate to pay for.
Breaching PSR is what, really ? 3 point, 2 points ? We roll over by 6 points each season at Liverpool and Chelsea. So who cares about 3 points ? Get spending ENIC. No real excuses left.

I think Frank is a definite upgrade on Ange. I really can’t see Ange keeping Brentford up for four seasons playing Kamikaze ball.

The question is whether it’s a big enough upgrade.

Something only time will tell should he be appointed.

I think it would be a good move.

He would be a breath of fresh air.

We can't assume that because Ange fabricated the "in January i decided to focus on the EL" bollocks that we will all of a sudden reduce pur losses by half in order to qualify for the CL next season, that's an impossible turnaround of ten games from losses to wins.

Not going to happen with Aussie Joe.

No way.

According to reports Ange returns on Friday, let's hope it's to clear his desk.

The logic that you can either be a cup team or a league team but can't be both is getting stupid.

If you want to compete in Europe and Domestically you need a strong squad and an adaptable manager. We qualified for the Champions League the same year we got to the finals (arguably with one of our weaker squads), so logically, it's possible.

If you're saying Ange can only really focus on one thing then that really puts the finishing touch to his P45 for me.

Ange invented the theory that he would concentrate on the EL.

Jan 19, 2025 "when our players return from injury you will see a different side"

We didn't we went from bad to worse, and went on to actually lose more.

Forget the glory of the EL win and look at what he actually said. He's misleading, sensitive and a serial fabricator of the truth that is so evident to everyone but him.

He's not managing a pub side from Billabong, but he's coaching like he is.

Hard to tell what Ange would do at Brentford but I could see Ange winning trophies at Brondby where Frank didn’t and I could also see Ange winning the championship with that Brentford squad instead of finishing 3rd and having to go via the Playoffs

All fantastic points.

My major concern is his player management.

Some Spurs fans have the excuses ready to defend Ange, such as us sacking the medical stuff because they were at fault for countless injuries which led up to Micky & Romero reinjuring themselves against Chelsea.

However, Ange should also be held responsible as he should have enough experience to see a players physical condition, and should at least see them take part in a short amount of rigorous training such as some short sprints to recognise their condition.

For the medical staff to be employed, but be that incompetent doesn't make all much sense to me either, they are professionals - not amateurs unless they were inside agents from Woolwich.

Football coaches aren’t medically trained. That’s why medical teams exist.

There were clearly serious issues in our medical department because numerous players didn’t recover until seeing external medical people and they all made a point of letting everyone know. Then there’s the fact they were clearly short staffed because they were hiring new people mid season

Ange said he was going on holiday on Monday May 26. He is back in the country today
I assume he took 2 weeks off so we should know next Monday at the latest whether he has got the tin tack.

He was such a ponce. So easy to hate. Actually. I don’t think I’ve hated anyone more than him, even Sol when he played for us I didn’t hate. But Redknapp. What a cunt.
Like I said I can't remember him playing so I searched on YouTube 'jamie redknapp spurs' I had to scroll 3 pages before I saw footage even Google is suppressing his existence out of shame :D

Kelleher signs for Brentford from Liverpool and the welcome to the Bee's quote is apparently from the goalkeeping coach, with no quote or comment from Frank!!
Does Frank's silence speak volumes?

I used to read your posts with interest. Very rarely agreed with them to be honest but they used to make me chuckle. But your blind loyalty to Ange reminds me of some of the Portuguese Jose fanboys and their absolute devotion to the man above the good of the club. You seem to be going down that route with Ange. Give your head a wobble Harry. We are all over the moon with the Europa League in the bag but at what point were you really thinking to yourself during our one point per game calamitous league season that Ange has earned our respect? It was about time that the footballing Gods smiled down on us in a cup competition for once. Ange got lucky and deep down he knows it.

It is not blind loyalty. I respect Ange because he has earnt his position through hard work and has never been gifted anything. He started from the very, very bottom and succeeded everywhere he has been - against all odds.

At Spurs he inherited a team that was 8th in the league and in a shambles. Kane, Lloris, Perisic, Dier, Moura, Sanchez all left and he was given the task of integrating 5 new players into the starting 11. In that season he had long injuries to Richarlison, VDV and Romero (and was forced to play Emerson Royal at CB). He still managed to get the team 5th - something every the very best Newcastle team have only just achieved by the skin of their teeth.

In his 2nd season he lost key players after the first 12 games. However, he did make a mistake - he still thought the team could compete across all 4 competitions. He was expecting injuries to Romero and VDV to be just a few games, but of course they came back and immediately were out again. Was this poor advice from the medical dept?

The club needed a trophy AND the club needed Champions League next season. By the time January came around there was only 1 way of achieving this - Europa. With the teams left in the comp, he knew he could win it and did.

IF he stays next season, my expectation is that it will be an all-out assault on winning the Premier League. We would need to bring in some experienced players to exclusively play in the Champions League games and I think we have a good enough core of young players to do well in the domestic cup competitions.

There's nothing to weasel out of, really strange of you to try and manufacture drama. I literally used the term "people", it's not a singular term, neither was it intended as such, it's clearly a reference to a group. I don't really know how else to explain it to you without requesting you to go back and retake key stage two English so you can actually comprehend words.

Specifically I have disagreed with Richard Arlison Richard Arlison over whether Ange is responsible for the injury crisis in his two seasons, and he himself will tell you he thinks we had a shit medical department last year and the new one haven't settled down yet, so their dodgy assessments are more responsible for the injury crises than Ange's tactics. I've seen plenty of people saying we need to bin off the likes of Mason, Jedinak et al and replace them with elite coaches so that Ange has a better chance of being successful as manager next year, because "the coaches lead the training, Ange just tells them what to do", so ipso facto it's their fault the tactics aren't being translated properly. Plenty of our early season performances explained away with "individual errors", claiming we were otherwise tactically sound but for the Romero, Porro, Bissouma or Dragusin error of the week. The Extra Mile(sey) The Extra Mile(sey) has memed the fuck out of "Ange coached a win, the players didn't execute" for months.

Why don't you ask Larry David Larry David if he feels singled out by my post before you fucking white knight for him?
I have never felt singled out or bullied in this forum, I like having discussions

I don’t think phonesy meant that

I don't have an issue with anyone saying they are Ange in because of vibes, which is essentially what your original post said. I can understand that being a strong motivator for people wanting him to stay, and about one of the only valid ones, it just doesn't in my opinion outweigh the league performance.
You are not at all who I was talking about in my post, Phonesy just trying to have his 5 minutes of fame by making shit up tbh.

All about Ange takes the pressure off our low wage players who are being asked to achieve the same as players at clubs where they are getting double or triple the salary.

All about Ange is probably part of the reason they respect him so much. He took the pressure to win on his shoulders.
I'm not sure you can say he took the pressure to win on his shoulders after he spent a season losing so many matches. Is his constant posturing designed to take pressure off the players or keep the focus on himself? The answer probably depends on whether you like him or not. I think he's a much better self-promoter than manager.
