it is a sharp distinction and you guys feel the need to exaggerate so you can make the critics look unreasonable when in fact they're very reasonable in wanting him out and believing he's not up to the level of this league

Of Course. Where else do My cookies go? I guess to the same place your ticket money goes.

I believe in a man who brings presents once a year. You believe in a man that supposedly brought football, once, sometimes twice a week for more than half a year. Who's the bigger fool?:ange-arms2:

Santa may be able to deliver in the snow but can he do it on a warm sticky night in Bilbao?

do you really not understand? c'mon man. why not give another bold, fence sitting position along the lines of, "i can understand why people dislike him after he taunted and confronted fans and the way he acts in interviews." why do you feel the need to demonize the people who he badly rubs the wrong way? his saltiness is part of who he is ffs
Again I don't really have a strong opinion on them events. The cupping the ear was stupid and I didn't like that. But the interviews don't get to me at all. The questions aren't always fair and he's always going to be in a bad mood after a loss.

He got pretty out of pocket during the last few months in a way those of us interested in keeping him are kind of conveniently forgetting, I will admit.

The stuff about how there was a mole in the club feeding injury information to the media? The fuck was all that?

On balance though I think Ange is great at dealing with the media.
he's a salty thin skinned jerk and it's not an absurd idea to think that. some people even like him for those reasons. again, this is just more 'i'm a purer fan' nonsense

I know. We're naughty little scamps aren't we? Grrr... Don't know how you put up with it really. You are the very soul of benign toleration 😍

if you guys had any backbone at all you'd just say, 'i don't care how many games he lost, he won a trophy and i like him and i don't want to see him get the sack' . but instead it's, 'ooooh you didn't celebrate the trophy!' or 'ooooh you're mean to him!' or 'ooooh you're secretly a gooner because you don't like to see us win things!!' it's fucking pathetic

I wish the club would stop dropping fecking ‘Captain Cuti’ type posts when the bar stewards know what we all want to hear!!!!

Every time the phone pings I think ‘This is it!’

:vicarioconfused:

Nothing new but more confirmation of the direction of travel. Probably the first time we've seen it from a decent source. Doesnt sound that close though so forget today. We're making a right pigs ear of it. Copying Man Utds 'how not to go about appointing a new manager' from last summer

Weird but interesting observation:

The club website, as far as I can tell, doesn't actually reference any coaching staff these days. Just players.

We used to (a long time ago probably) have photos and bios of the manager, coaches etc. on there.

This isn't related to the current potential changes, but just rather an odd thing to notice. If you only had the official site to use, it might be quite difficult to know who the manager etc is

I don't know where I stand. I try not to take sides but that seems to just offend people even more. This would be my summary of where my head is at with Ange and why I don't understand either extreme views. The "Ange In we can't sack him, he just won us a cup" or the "I hate Ange. Get him out. He is so out of his depth". I think the truth lies in between.

1) Ange's first season was acceptable. Great start and poor finish but 5th after losing Kane was fine.
2) Ange's second season was volatile. League campaign was a disgrace but we did target the cups all year and go strong in them and that gamble ultimately paid off when we finally won a trophy.
3) I think fans should be grateful to Ange for targeting the cups (probably against club advice) and ending our trophy drought.
4) I completely understand why fans think Ange needs to go as overall our season showed no consistency and we lost far too many games to believe he can turn it around.
5) I don't understand why people hate Ange.

I think most posters on here don't fall into either extreme category before I offend more people! But I think this place does tend to kick people into one direction or the other! If you find yourself on here arguing every day for the club to sack Ange (very fair opinion) then you are more likely to get annoyed and become more extreme. People calling him a fraud after he broke our 17 year drought would fall on the extreme end.
Good summary but there are no fences in this forum... just sides... pick one and strap yourself in. For what it's worth, I thought he overachieved in year 1 off the back of that brilliant start... the middle part of the season is probably what we were but he got 5th after losing Kane so fair enough.
Last season was a joke. Even if you factor in the injuries/suspensions, constant chopping and changing etc. we should not have been down in 17th. Not good enough but somewhat salvaged by winning the Europa League and as a long suffering Spurs fan, that night was a reminder that winning is everything. It's so difficult to judge Ange because of all the vagaries that have attached themselves to his two years in charge. But I'm not keen on changing him for a guy with no winning pedigree.

Totally depends with who.

If it was 19 defeats with a Man City or any of the top 7 or 8 revenue clubs, then no.
If is was 19 defeats with a team with a fraction of their budget and team looked coherent, then quite possible.

Bayern took Kompany after I believe they had 24 defeats that season for example, and that looks like decent decision
Can any team look coherent losing 19 games?

So sticking with a guy who had 22 defeats isn't off the table for you? It might be a decent decision this time next year using Kompany as an example?

That is exactly where I sit. I do think its time to say thanks Ange and move on, but I find Frank underwhelming so really don't mind which way it goes

You're a chump mate, I have 2 Dachshunds that know and understand more about football than you. You haven't been right about one damn thing in the posts I've read of yours, which mostly I skip straight past. Reading your twaddle is like earwigging a conversation at a primary school.

I'll bet you think an ego is something chickens make
Gosh you need to get those Dogs on TV. Make sure they carry their Ange out Banner. Cause any half intelligent being would know what's Good for them.

Just know, that may mean they going to show you up big time. Cause if they know more than me about football, they really gonna make you look Thicker than a Barn Door.

You know the saying "Far be it from me to ever let my common sense get in the way of your stupidity. Keep moving Brother Man, Keep Moving."
