So tiring to say, and no one answers - but why the fuck did we put £400m+ net into the squad in recent years if that was even remotely true.

Swear some of you have weird goggles on where you're seeing mike ashley's newcastle

A lot of that's on very young talent with high ceilings that could turn out good. Assets that the way football is going will only go up in value. Bergvall, Gray, Van De Ven, Undogie Vicario, Tel, Odobert. All talents we have brought in for decent fees that have a lot of potential. Great on paper but we won't ever make that next step by signing a serious player that has no resell that will just instantly take us to that next level. VDV only one I can ever think we did. We also won't ever compete serious on wages.

The fact that we have 300million we could spend on PSR this season but won't because the owners won't put money in tells me all I need to know about the priorities.

Because no likes to hear facts , it's always Levy this Levy that, we even have a trophy and still the moans go on.
For the record according to transfermarket net spend in last five seasons has been £481 million which is slightly higher than the Woolwich but the answer will come back but we don't buy elite players.

Bilboa was amazing but please don't use the fact that we just won something to cover up what's been a fucking abject 17 year run.

We as a fan base spend the highest net in the world on tickets shirts and despite how amazing Bilbao was that was in spite of the owners we did that not because of em. It wasn't some great master plan to not take that step we could have done under Poch just so we could win the EL mate

Any issue I have with Thomas Frank is not so much to do with the coach himself.. He keeps Brentford competitive in the league, with the second lowest wage bill which is an outstanding achievement and I think he's absolutely earned a shot at a big club, and when he was linked to Dortmund a few months ago, I thought that a good fit and wanted to see him go there and do well..

The issue is, why are we so attracted to a coach that can squeeze everything he can out of a club that looks to keep the running costs of the squad to a minimum? What does that indicate about how we will operate going forward? That's my only real concern with hiring Frank.

Does Solanke have resell value? Did Ndombele? Porro? I have a feeling you're going to move the goalposts here, but we aren't a club that sells our best players so I have no idea what the basis for that argument is.

So we hired Mourinho and Cone to not win things?

None of these theories make any sense and sound like flat earth theories
