I have admitted that I am a tad sentimental and the facts are what happened last season - ie we finished 17th and we won a trophy. Unless people have a crystal ball, then who know what might have happened if Ange had been given another year? If he has more of the first team available and he has learnt how to be more pragmatic, then he would probably wouldn't repeat the disastrous league form.
Being realistic, it is highly unlikely that we are going to win the PL or CL, with our current set up. Therefore, we'd set our sights on EL, FAC or LC and a top 6 finish. I think Ange could achieve that.

Okay.

I honestly believe we found the luck that evaded us for years to win the Europa, and thank goodness.

As for what hope does, it clouds judgment in my opinion and allows the mind to see whatever it wants.

Postecoglou will now be assessed (by some) on that last game as opposed to what else he presided over. Weird really.

I think he's left the club in better position than what he inherited when he arrived. European trophy, Champions League football, blooded some youngsters.

If the squad is bolstered with experience and quality, and the right manager, we could be in for a fine season.

It entirely depends. In season if the manager also sees it as his only chance to get European football I could see it. I could also see them not binning off the league to the same extent, but the reality is we shouldn’t ever need to in order to win the Europa.

It was an incredibly kind run of games to win a cup and a good manager basically just has to see us beat Frankfurt and we’re in to a cup final as AZ and Bodo just need the bare minimum focus.

I’ll credit Ange with us beating Frankfurt as they’re decent, but I could see loads of coaches achieving it.
Tottenham should be beating Bodø/Glimt given the talent discrepancy, but it’d be naive to think that doing so was some simple formality.

They’d won 57% of their European home games by 2 or more goals and advanced from eight of the last ten two-legged ties. Nine wins from ten home games this season in the Europa League, including wins against Porto, Besiktas, Conference League winners Olympiacos and Lazio. Saying that Spurs just needed the bare minimum focus is a bit disingenuous.

This is football you halfwit, not the G7 summit!

As an observer from an enlightened vantage point I can see a trend of stupidity in England’

Honestly get a grip! You sound a right egotistical twit and YOU are projecting the very same racist views you’re claiming to despise!

What an absolute plonker!

It is fecking weird.
What other club would sack a manager after he won them a massive trophy?
Well, they fired Churchill after he won WW2, so there's that....

It isn't. It was a semi final. They weren't equipped for it. Winning a bunch of mostly group games because you're on a frozen pitch and your opponents turn up half arsed is not the same as a european semi final. The occasion was too much for their Wrexham equivalent players and it was never a contest against the insane talent/financial muscle of a PL side.

Lazio turned up half cooked at their place then battered them at Lazio and went out on pens. Its a hilarious joke they managed to fuck it up.

The talent disparity between mid tier teams in England to the top leagues is already hilarious, hence why our 16th best side can bully its way through Sociedad, Bilbao, Lyon etc. Let alone the talent disparity between us and Bodo or AZ. Its an absolute mountain.

Wasn't that talented when injuries hit. We play the following backline for months

Kinsky
Porro-gray-davies-spence

That's a relegation backline. The squad may not be 17th weak but its weak as baby shit.

Not one player gets into Woolwich's starting lineup, let alone Liverpool.
Levy has played the fans and Manager in a manner worthy of Lucifer himself

Fulham took 4/6 from us with Calvin fucking Bassey at CB. Your complaints have no merit.
