Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lol I haven't got a problem with people wanting Ange out. I completely understand why he went.

My issue is that it's the 'top 4 isn't a trophy' and 'when did we stop caring about winning cups?' lot of the last many years who are now the ones saying they'll be happy for Thomas to get us back into the top 4 race.

It's weird.

The same people attacking other managers for only caring about the top 4 and throwing cups, are now the ones saying it'll be ok with them if that's what Frank brings.

Plus...we all know that once the reign of Frank gets going, it'll be those same people calling him 'big ears' and calling the players shit.

It's bizarro world but I'm quite enjoying it.
Big eared Danish cunt, not fat Aussie cunt....and so the cycle continues.....🤷‍♂️

I actually Like Dane and thought it was criminal of Ange that he never got another chance after that , what is Frank like on bringing through Youth players?

I'm not sure they've had many to bring through tbh. Transfermarkt shows a sparse list of grads:

edit: Maybe Rico Henry counts. Didn't come from the academy but joined them as a teenager

Not convinced that Nathan Collins is an upgrade on Danso. Even Dragusin in a more compact system could be just as good. I'm not sure if we really need Collins so surprised by that link.

They’ll start a thread soon called:

“Pastries Only”

Who, be nice if they had some Danish pastries in the stadium on match days.

The only player who has behaved like this recently was Harry, but he just wanted out anyway, and still had to stop sulking eventially. Romero has been twerking for a move to Spain for months, this is going to be fuck all to do with Ange.
I think the Romero aspect is overblown. He seems to be an emotional player (not a bad thing, just a different sort), one who is very up with the ups and down with the downs. He wanted away during the depths of the Ange era and then following the final sounded the opposite.

I hope he stays because we have a great partnership when they are both healthy, but that is a rare occurrence in recent times and if I had to lose one I'd definitely want to be keeping VDV.

At least we would be selling high on Romero and since we are in "sell to buy" according to Levy (as always) maybe selling him is the best way forward.

a player going on strike is fairly rare, like I say it did Harry no good at all except a souring of his relationship with the fans. I'll never forget the entire stadium singing "are you watching Harry Kane" during that little episode.

All sounds positive.

I hope he gets the backroom staff he wanted. I found it a bit strange that Ange didn't bring anyone with him. I think it's good for Frank to already have his support staff with him.

It was one of my biggest red flags with me when Ange came in and I said it very early on.

I don't understand how a manager, particuarly one who is not a coach, and is more "philosophical", doesn't have a trusted and specialised group of coaches he works with.

Ange came in and he/we basically hired a random group of average to poor coaches, and Ange asked them to implement his way of playing.

We genuinely looked the poorest coached team in the league, and is it a surprise.

It's just amateur hour.

It may have worked for Ange in tin pot leagues, but it was never going to work in the PL. He was too arrogant to think he could just walk into a PL club with no trusted staff, and make a success of it.

He was too naive and stupid, and I am amazed the club signed off on it. I don't understand why the club didn't question that, and say no. But then I don't understand why we hired him in the first place, butwe were desperate he was about 6th down the list of managers, so maybe that was why.

Frank bringing in his own trusted staff is as important as any signing we can make this summer IMO.

Depends who he thinks are dickheads
Biss, Spence, maybe BJ.
Don’t know what to think about this , Thomas Frank’s seems a good manager on paper but for a club with our ambitions, I’m not really convinced. The biggest fear factor for me though is this club’s difficulty in being able to clear the deadwood we seem to accumulate year in ,year out. We will really have to look into our scouting system because the last few years has been a disaster. As always the club is first and foremost and if he achieves getting us up the league ladder, then that’s the only news that matters.
We might see a different side of our squad with a new manager, who knows how to get the best out of them and play to their strengths.

My minor concern is if we don't play a high line, how is VdV going to shine? I think we'll see a better version of Radu and Danso, though.

I agree. I don't think any of them are likely to force a move or to turn toxic.

They may have wanted Ange in their emotions after the Final but in April they all knew that it wasn't working and he was all but gone.

These men have been professional footballers for all their lives, when training comes around again they will get to work. There's CL football and a whole lot of money on offer, as well as the bond they have with their teammates, and I think most of them love the club and fans if not the board.

Frank will have the opportunity to get them to believe, there's not much discord in the world of sports that a few wins won't cure. I don't think cohesion will be the issue, he's not that sort of personality.
