Management Thomas Frank

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Postecoglou literally did that in his first season. No Kane. The club in disarrray. Team. Morale down the toilet. Injuries to key players.

Frank inherits a united and high on morale squad with European winning experience and a winning record when the starting eleven are fit. He's got his own succesful backroom team, no doubt will re-enforce the playing squad with his own players. He has no excuses for not equalling Postecoglou's first season

Yeah you keep saying this and we all know what the agenda is .. it’s boring mate.

You make it all sound great - reality is balancing CL football with the Prem (much harder than balancing with EL) and fixing a mentality which allowed 22 league defeats. He has to take us up from 17th.

As much as you lot wanna make out Ange left a dream, it paints a tiny picture of the season, of our squad and of the challenge faced by Frank. We were the worst non-relegated league team last season and the way you lot talk you’d think we just happened upon that due to bad injuries.

Loads of work to do. I believe Frank can do it but recognise the challenge.

Anyone else feeling a blissful inner calm?

So nice.
Once the last few cultists are gone, or deprogrammed I will be zenned to fuckery me.

I know it's a Kangaroo, which is annoying, but this is THE calmest thing I think I've ever seen.
Bob Ross.
BOB. FUCKING. ROSS.
Stroking a baby animal.

I’m defo expecting growing pains this season though. Whatever you think of Frank it’s a fact that he’s never had to manage Europe and the PL at the same time, and the new CL format is the most demanding in the sport’s history. Our squad is already pretty weak and imo anyone would struggle. If we’re sitting say 8th and eliminated from CL by January I wouldn’t be totally surprised.

The key with Frank is patience.

I have a few mates in Denmark who tell me the country is very excited about Frank being given such a high profile job. It’s not like Ange and the Aussie fandom levels but a lot of Danes will follow and hope we win now .

Far more interest than when we had peak Eriksen apparently
Denmark is not a football wilderness, think so many Aussies pinned their colours to Ange's mast because the standard is atrocious in the A-league and there are so few Australians doing anything in football abroad at the moment. He was all they had to keep up with, Denmark have a decent standard league and a football culture, lest we forget they won the Euro in 92. Don't think they are likely to turn their attentions away from their domestic teams to fangirl over a manager doing well abroad.

I think Danes and northern Europeans are far more sensible than Aussies, Africans, Asians and even some north Americans.
Far less likely to follow a compatriot to a team and obsess about it for example. If that were the case, we'd already have a mentalist army of Danes from Eriksen, PEH, Allan Nielson playing for us.

What do people know of Justin Cochtrane? People seem to speak very highly of him, not just Jermaine Defoe.

I see he was a Spurs youth team coach back in the day, as well as an England U19s coach.

Once your whiny bitch ass is deported/remove from this forum, us real spurs fans will be 'zenned to fuckery'.

It was amazing that they won Euro 1992

Considering they didn't even qualify for Euro 1992

I have never called him that but I reserve the right to not like him as a bloke and to have hated almost every second of his time in charge.

I caveat that with yes, he did win the trophy, but I view that in context that I won’t go over as it’s been done to death.

You’re welcome to remember him fondly - I won’t, I will remember the cupping the ear to the fans, the embarrassing press moments, the ego which showed every five seconds..

Frank is much more my speed - measured, intelligent and a gentleman by all accounts. I’m happy he’s at the helm.

I was a big fan of Ange before he arrived, and was really looking forward to him coming.

I don't have any personal disdain for him (note: people never use 'deign') as a person, but I am surprised just how defensive people are of him. He had a number of confrontations with fans over his time here and if he had a greek accent he would have probably been thought of a lot worse than he is in general (nothing against the greeks, but rather I think his aussie persona is disarming).

This isn't a judgement of his right to react, but rather when put into perspective alongside the atrocious level of league performance, and the factors he may or may not have contributed to, it seems a bit weird.
A lot of people didn't like Tim Sherwood for far less. It all feels like he did a grand job of convincing us all that we deserved the worst parts. The whole thing seems like we should be grateful for him doing the dishes after being a pretty horrific dinner guest for the whole evening
