Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hes quick and tricky and has a track record of scoring for a midtable side - what more do you want?

Wouldnt want him and Odobert running at my defence.

Plus he has one of the sickest penalties in the game - Ivan Toney level coolness. Can’t wait for him and Tel to get into a scrap over who takes penalties. If we ever win any.

Throw in Dom and our plan could be to win the CL by forcing every knockout game to pens.

What else do I want?

World class players, I want us to sign some of those instead of selling them all the time.

I want us to really try and win the PL and shop in the same shelf as Woolwich and Liverpool.

This is one of the worst highlight reels I’ve ever seen. Diminutive, not even quick, ball striking is poor. What am I missing here? Jonathan David for example is much better than this

What an irony that a poster with name of Defoe talking bad about a striker being diminutive o_O 🤷‍♂️

He is 1.75m not as bad as some of the best strikers in PL in terms of height.

His ball striking is actually very good - No clue where you got that from

When I watch the video you post, thing that stands out is his linkup play and movement to get into the space and good ball striking. And now, I look at the Fbref, its essentially the same, passing is his strongest point so are his progressive carries. Something both Solanke & Richarlison lack. Goals & assits - ofcourse he has that plenty for his age and experience and time on pitch

Fcuk me mate, you must have low bar.

Talent-wise and having shown capacity against the top teams, Rashford is better than all our players.

But the weight of disagreement suggests others think different, so even finances allowed, maybe not.

My view notwithstanding is that Rashford still has 2 or 3 years left at the top level. We shall see.

What a load of absolute nonsense lol

“Unknown 19-year-old” most likely.🤣

Power-up to “Unknown 23-year-old…”

Jermain Defoe was a lot quicker and his ball striking has a good argument for top 5 all time in Premier League history (him, Aguero, Kane are my top 3)

Please stop. This is not another Jermain Defoe. From what I can tell this player’s best trait is his hold up play and how the fuck will he use that at 5’8”?

Just think he might get eaten alive by PL defenders. No real physical superpower to lean on in tough times. Mind you I thought Evanilson looked similarly small and not that super pacey, and he did well last year.

Generally I agree. But a Grealish with a point to prove for a season chi be a weapon
Yea could be that way but it's a hell of a gamble. City rarely make mistakes getting rid of players (Alvarez being the exception but he wanted more game time so they could do little about it) so I would steer clear. It'd be a very expensive deal even for a loan. When we don't have a huge amount of cash we can't afford to take gambles that big imo

Defoe had Crouchy or Kanoute to do his hold up play for him. When football moved to one up front he found it much harder. Although he did adapt eventually and was pretty good as a lone striker for AVB. But there is a reason all teams want a physical hold up man these days.

Aguero was like an inch shorter than Kalimuendo as well and dealt well with the prem. Wissa is the same height as Kalimuendo as well.

In the right system a smaller striker can operate quite well.
