Also why can't you search threads past longer than 10 pages?
Not sure, that's just how the search works. I guess if you've not found what you're after within 10 pages of results then you need to refine your search terms a bit.
You used to be able to search more than 10 pages up until a few months back.
Not sure then. I'll try rebuilding the search index but takes a while to process.
It still only shows 10 pages. There's no option to change. Must've been an older version of the site or something.

My guess would be it's to stop runaway database queries, like where someone searches for 'cunt' on 14 years worth of posts.
