Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Forest clearly just posturing for their fans. If tapping up was actually a thing then every single club would be guilty. Every transfer is agreement with player before club contacts their club.
You're supposed to ask for permission first and a lot of clubs still follow that old process, despite agents being hyenas. Either the other club tells you to fuck off (that's when the interested buyer will sometimes tell their target to agitate for a move) or they'll give you the go ahead, then you negotiate with the player and his reps and when you got their green light, you talk numbers with the selling club. But permission must be given beforehand, not having the whole deal done & dusted with the seller.

I don't think it works that way when there's a selling clause. You meet it, they're fucked. But they can play hard ball and that was to be expected from that Greek prick.

Ditto. Lol.

Nah I'm real chuffed with the Kudus & especially MGW signings, but we still have a few issues that do need addressing. We lost 22 games and finished 17th last season...obviously Frank plus them two lads should/will help us climb up the table, but it ain't enough to reach the top 3-4 IMHO.

We need to look at the goalie situation...and I ain't talking about just Vic. Defo need a left-footed CB who can stay fit the whole season and more experienced than Micky...if the latter drops to the bench, so be it, earn your place back! I wouldn't be sad at all if we brought in Antonee Robinson and he started ahead of Udogie. Still need a tough tackling bastard in the middle. An elite CF wouldn't go amiss either...sorry big Dom. Also, let's ship out the ones who've been stinking up the place for too long...looking at you Richy, Biss and a couple others. Sonny leaves as a legend.

I completely understand and I think most spurs fans are on the same page with regards to most of the points u made above. Just a few points/thoughts.....

1) Rome wasn't built in a day, It will take time to get all the pieces we need. Cm we may have to wait out, we have 2 extremely good youngsters and benrancut and MGW.

2) GK. I can see Kinsky taking the no1 position real soon. He has a few things to work on but he's has great distribution. Vic I expect to get a decent price for for from an Italian club maybe.

3) Cb's we may have to be patient with. I rate phillips extremely high and we have vusko too. We will also have to see qhat kind of recovery dragusin makes. This is probably going to be a 'make do' situation for this coming season, time will tell.

4) Robinson is a great choice just depends on the price. Udogie is a monster when he's right he just needs structure and guidance just like the rest of the younger players. We forget that when we sign these young players that they are still developing and learning and not the finished product but instead in need of that final bit of work to get there. Hate would be a great choice, can play lb and lcb.

5) Dom will be our no1 for another season at least. If the team does brilliant and outgrows his ability then we may change but he's good enough imo for a top 4 spot. The guy needs service from the team in return for his incredible hard work.

Lastly I think we have to be careful with our thinking here. I get the feeling that frank is the type of manager that will only make 2 or 3 changes Maximum per game and not 6 or 7. This means that although everyone will get opportunities it will be difficult to keep everyone happy and this is part of the job managing a top team.

Sell
Bissouma
Sarr (controversial)
Solomon
Son
Devine

Loan out
Vuskovic (championship)
Phillips (prem)
Donley
Moore (prem)

Edit. And just on the squad we have,

Pre window - 6th-10th
Currently including Kudos and MGW - 4th-7th
If we get a cm/dm of similar quality to what we've bought so far -3rd-6th

If anything it's probably made his weekend. I can see him rubbing his hands together and dusting off the boxing gloves, ready to get stuck in.
He's something huh. Deary me he's managing to humanise Levy.
He looked like a massive bell end when he was having a go at Nuno in front of the cameras end of last season too
It's the first time I'm more relieved Levy's on our side and not that fat souvlaki!!

And the 25/26 premiership award for biggest dummy spit goes to….,,,,

This certainly helps whatever it is we’re rumored to be doing.

You'd have thought he'd have been quite content with today's outcome, rather than waste time pulling a hissy fit at us!!

I think they spoke about this on the View From The Lane podcast a while ago.

Before the VVD saga(?), clubs would agree a fee with the club before negotiating terms. Now it seems that clubs negotiate terms with a player before a fee, even though they shouldn't, through intermediaries like agents etc. Clubs just turn a blind eye to it because it's what everyone does now.
Agreed. Really seems to have gone by the wayside

Until a case like forest where they are really pissed about it and might use it as recourse

We do need more, but I think if we add one or two more, that’s about right. Anymore than that into the first team and we’ll struggle to settle everyone.

Persactly as I read it.

Larsson isn’t really a DM though. More like Sarr and not worth 50m to be that much better than Sarr, if he’s better at all.

Whenever I watched Agoume he looked anything but slow. He destroys and distributes

Edit: Stiller looks a better option than both

I agree. Agoume looks good but its a big ask for him to step up also. I think frank really rates bents and sees grays big potential so we may sit tight for a season on cm.

Looking at the makeup of the cm area we have I think a pure destroyer is what's needed. Somebody who's absolute main focus is defensively and give the attackers the freedom play. So much more baleba than Wharton. Wharton is brilliant but would just leave us lacking in stopping other teams. Hjulmund I like too.

If we really can't stretch that far that just get Luiz for his experience whilst archie learns the no6 ropes and blossoms.

Teams need 15 starting 11 players. Minimum. Games changed. players getting hooked at 60 minutes doesn't mean they've played badly, just good to give them half our to cool down properly and be ready for the next game.

£20-£25m
He's 29 soon and 1 year on his contract. He's not Harry Kane. If he holds out until January he's into the low teens IMO.

I was thinking yesterday that we're in a position where I'm not sure we get weaker by letting anyone go tbh. I doubt Romero goes now, but if he did, it would be enough money to replace him and balance the books IMO. Literally anyone can go IMO and I doubt many fans would be upset. We don't have a Berbatov, Modric, Bale or Kane to "lose"

The only one we can't lose is Micky.
