£500M for a stadium naming rights deal for 20 years is not in the realms of impossibility. £25m per year for a PL stadium of a team in the CL 50% of the time (which you think would increase with more investment), that hosts 30 non-football events (World Title Boxing fights, massive music concerts, NFL games etc.). Really surprised the club were not able to find a sponsor before and that Levy has allowed us to go 5 years without that income stream.

Because the stadium is called Tottenham Hotspur stadium when events held there are broadcast around the world - whether Beyonce concerts, boxing, NFL matches etc, we get the money in different ways via bigger sponsorships, tv rights etc

Become Apple stadium or whatever else, and other income streams reduce - don't fall into the trap of thinking a stadium sponsorship deal is extra money because its not.

They bring in Frimpong and Kerkez, we extend Ben Davies.

They sign Wirtz, we sign Tel.

They get Ekitike, we keep Richy.

They'll sign Guehi or similar, we got Takai.

They got MacAllister/Gravenberg/Szobo, we have Biss, Bentancur & Sarr.

But woohoo, we signed Kudus.

One true big club with genuine ambition and respect for their fans vs a money-printing scam openly mugging off its customers.
Liverpool current core of their squad is 8 years old. We are still infancy of building a core.

Stop comparing Liverpool business to spurs business. Given we failed Poch & they backed Klopp… divergence started there. Unless we come to above average range of finishing in top4… till then no point in comparing the 2 transfer business

I’m not convinced he’s the next Isak. Perhaps he’ll do well there but it’s not necessarily a given. I feel like Isak is better than Ekitike in the air, which is a very big deal in the Prem. Could be wrong about all that, but at least from the standpoint of being worried about Liverpool, this is more underwhelming than if they had gotten Isak.
If the gods had wanted us to play football in the clouds, they'd have put grass up there.

Fucking nailed it

Only thing I've nailed in months.

I'm having a drier spell than friggin Shane Long.

Last season our top 5 players goal involvements across all competitions :
23 Heung Min Son (11 g, 12 a)
23 James Maddison (12g, 11a)
22 Dejan Kulusevski (10g, 12a)
22 Dominic Solanke (14g, 8a)
21 Brennan Johnson (17g, 4a)

Whilst Son is unlikely to get those numbers again, new arrival Kudus plus Odobert who was injured for most of last season should be contributing as should Richarlison (or his upgrade if Richarlison leaves) ...... and then you have wildcards such as Vuskovic who was 2nd highest goalscorer at Westerlo last season.

I'd guess there will not be one very high scorer (such as we used to have Kane), it will be a number of players who all get 10+ goals and/or 20+ goal involvements,

But I don't see goalscoring as being a problem in 2025/26 any more than it was in 2024/25 when we were not that far away from being one of highest scorers in PL - what let us down last season was goals conceded which was high

Getting Kudus alone vastly improves our attack. We are a much bigger threat already.

conceding goals, not scoring them.
Are you not contradicting yourself?
No, I am saying that GA, not GF, is our major issue.

We've conceded 60+ for 3 straight seasons. That predates Ange.

I've said multiple times that many overrated our back line and our midfield has been a continual weakness. This all began in the late Poch era, and has continued.

Too much attention has been placed on our attack, which, again - is not the issue. I pointed out that 65 goals would be one of our worst seasons in the past decade. You pointed out that clubs have been finishing in the top 4 with those sorts of goal tallies. Pretty simple deduction that the issue is at the other end of the pitch, then.

It could give us an extra £500k a week towards player wages. Or pay off most of our stadium debt over the next 20 years. Not to be sniffed at.

Consider the rate of inflation within the football economy; how little you can get for 25m today (a decent looking champo player? ...A so-called `'punt" from a foreign league?).....

.............Then ask yourself how much (little!) will that same £25m will be 'worth' in the year 2045.

Then there's this.

It's not free money..... We're selling commercial value that we could otherwise be reaping ourselves.
