That could be beneficial at home when wanting to commit more bodies forward to have someone just sitting back moping up.

I'd be lying if I said I could remember Deschamps as a player....... Sounds an awful lot like EC casting himself as 'The Artist' (as usual).

Taking the phase literally though..... Carrying the water (ball) would constitute transporting it from A to B (up the field somewhat) would it not?
 
Our window has been a mess as usual so far

Going both ways , not enough quality through the door and no where near enough out either

It's looking increasingly likely that we go into the new season with pretty much the exact squad that finished 17th plus Kudus

Competent manager will make a difference but this squad is nowhere near good enough to compete in the champions League and Prem

Miles off what we needed as usual

Its rapidly developing into the usual shit show and last minute trolley dash. To finish 17th and effectively just add Kudus to make any sort of difference 3 weeks out of the season starting is pretty pathetic even by our standards. Signing Tel and giving Davies another year are poor decisions. Solomon, Gil, Richarlison, Bissouma, Son, maybe Dragusin all still here.

Those 24 hours when we had 2 "here we gos" and deduced that we had a transfer kitty of £500m was fun though, eh? Those glory glory days.

I'm sure at some point the details of MGW's release clause will be revealed. Until then there's barely any point anyone speculating.

There is a small chance that it was actually totally ridiculous and all parties agreed to it.
I don't it, personally, but for all we know MGW, his agent and NF officials all agreed to such a specific set of circumstances being required that it couldn't ever actually happen.
If that was the case then MGW only has himself to blame

This is the crux, seemingly only we knew about it though.

I have heard that the clause was precise and we offered the exact amount, this is why Forest are upset I guess.

Same as usual, Levy has his hands over his ears not listening and pissing away how fortunate we were to win the Europa League. Then when the window is over he will sit in a chair with his arm around his legs rocking backwards and forwards going "PSR, PSR, PSR, I am right." The fact is he is the only person whoo uses it as an excuse.

Giving Ben Davies an extension when we know he isn't CL quality kinda sums it all up really! We can't complain for the third season in a row, when we do get a few injuries at the back and we are down to Ben Davies starting every game for a few weeks. Our form will totally drop off again when it happens.

I love Ben and he loves Spurs. Been a brilliant servant. But he's championship level at this stage in his career. He wouldn't start for any other team in the league so why keep him?

We do miss that profile though. I agree that he's very limited playing through the lines though so would need Bergval/Bentancur/MGW or someone else to drop deep and help with the build up play. But having him sitting while our fullbacks bomb forward does make me feel more comfortable. He will snuff out danger and stop a lot of transitions. We basically played the last decade without a proper DM who's sole purpose was do to that.
