Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we buy Palhinha we will need to keep Romero. We will need someone from deep who is good at passing forward. Palhinha is amazing off the ball will be one of the best in the league but limited passing range.

Walob . He looks fantastic from what little I have seen and I am very positive . However let’s not be disingenuous and list him as a new signing in this window . If your argument is well he is new to the team it weakens any argument ref Tel and Danso being new additions . Can’t have it both ways .

My view for what it’s worth

Vuskovic could be a super star but who really knows
Tel pretty meh last season , but way too early to write off
Danso a pretty solid start and a very useful addition
Takai : I have no view , but minimal downside
We already have Vuskovic so let’s also get Vlahovic…..couple of vics in a congested penalty box would be good.

As a supporter paying one of the highest season ticket prices in the league, I can't help but question the club's ambition—especially when every other top-six team appears to be making bold, proactive moves.

Might be and prob is a load of nonsense but I’d rather read positive nonsense than the equally shite negative nonsense certain posters are writing in here. 🙂

MGW I still think will happen. Talks have been ongoing despite what the press are being told, and although Forest keep moving the proverbial goalposts every time his people feel they are making headway it suits nobody for him to stay.

Rodrygo interest is genuine from what I'm told.

We should start to see the outs next week, and more change at the top table within the next few weeks/months.”
I don't need to be an ITK to tell you the Rodrygo interest is 100% not genuine. These ITKs have gone to the dogs. They are all just clickbait trolls at this stage. Run with any story they see!

Did you not see him player the other day? There's absolutely no way you sign an 18 year old CB built like a brick shithouse that looks a bit like he could be the new ginger pele (well, an actually decent version) and blends in with 'senior' players - if not stands out - and say that it doesn't immediately improve us.

Any squad depth at CB that looks ready to step in absolutely does. He's not a Phillips, Dorrington, or CCV type player, that is for sure - he's a senior international who has been playing senior football for 2 seasons now
I did, I watched the game 3 times. We were a lot better in the first half.

I think he could become a good player at the level we aspire to be but it's not good enough from the club to expect a young player still developing to elevate the first team.

Genuinely getting annoyed at the club for saying nothing to replace the yanked elation of two big name signings in as many days.

Yes, it wasn't their fault, but that didn't stop mummy getting me an ice-cream when I grazed my knee!

Well no - they are completely different circumstances.

Our primary motivation, as fans, should be to have a good squad. It shouldn't matter how old they are, how much they earn, how much they cost, and certainly shouldn't be even remotely about what the accountants have to figure out. The only aspect of fee I worry about is the weight of the price tag on expectations, which can have a huge effect on a player with the pressure associated with a big fee.

So, with that in mind, we haven't been able to use Vuskovic before. He's a new player available to use in our squad. How is that not the exact same thing as a 'new signing' - same as Takai?

The only way it wouldn't count is if people are obsessing over irrelevant bullshit like "winning" a transfer window or some other type of nonsense that has absolutely no correlation to the season itself. If we had a deal that Messi would sign for us this summer that was agreed in 2021, saying he wouldn't be a "new signing" would be no more than a technicality and would be absurd.

Equally, Tel and Danso are players that we didn't have available at the start of last season, and they had no pre-season with us. Retaining a player that was on loan is very much a new signing, the same way it was a big deal when we managed to keep Adebayor. The primary focus, and the only relevant metric, is having a better team than we did a year ago.
Right now we probably have a better coach than we did a year ago , does need proving but I rate Frank .

Are we a better team in terms of players than a year ago , well that is debatable. Son is on a very steep downward curve in many peoples opinion. Davies is older and was exposed badly several times last season. MGW has not signed as yet and Kudus who I like had a very poor season last season at West Ham so does have something to prove .

I am hoping MGW gets done along with 2 more quality signings and Bergvall kicks on even more , but as I type I think Frank might be the game changer , not the signings of players .
