Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I better not hear any we need to sell in order to buy shit now. Go hit the market running. They were willing to splash the cash on this, so do it elsewhere.

We already wasted two weeks waiting. This club has had 14 days now to sort out the second choice and have it ready to go. Odds on that? Levy and ENIC will never change.

Especially when Biss and Bents can leave on a free next summer. Given our seriously low income to wage ratio, it’s hardly going to make a dent in it if we bring in a couple of new central midfielders whilst paying Biss and Bents for another 12 months. The reality of them dropping down the pecking order will likely see them leave this summer anyways.

Left Forward is a disaster in the making:

Son - finished
Richarlison - injury prone and not good enough
Tel - potential
Moore - inexperienced and a good 1-2 years behind Tel
Solomon - injury prone and not good enough
Johnson - like watching Bambi trying to outmuscle the Hulk

Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Chelsea all clubs that have sold out who they are for ridiculous debt or negligent owners just for a flash at power or success. All a bit of a disease on the game and sadly none of them seem to give a fuck about it.

The shame of it is how there's so little noise in the media about the crooks in charge at clubs. The media are just as crooked though so hardly a surprise.

I think MGW ends up regretting this later on down the line. His loss, we move on and focus on getting Frank in what he needs if Levy is smart.
This just sounds like sour grapes Mark. Honestly

Levy has had his pants pulled down and yet again one of the richest football clubs in Europe will start the season woefully short and ill prepared.

At this rate, we'll soon be blaming the owners of all 19 other Premier league clubs when the reality is the problem lies at our own front door.

Our owners are shite. They're stale, They don't prioritise football and quite frankly they need to sell up and fuck off

What an epic fail. Even to the bitter end the vast majority believed he would sign and insisted it was Forest's "fat Greek owner" that fucked up despite everything pointing to us screwing up.

Lange, Vinai, Levy, Paradodgy in the background and we still find ways to spectacularly fuck up and embarrass ourselves.

As soon as he continued to train and then turned up on their tour it felt increasingly unlikely he’d come. If players want to move one thing they do is strike to a certain degree. There was no sign of that happening.

With loose reports we’ve moved on to Elliott… I don’t know how I feel about it. He’s a completely different player to MGW, he’s got a very good shot on him and is creative but he seems to float about for Liverpool as opposed to having a set position. For me, I don’t see how/where he fits into our team. You’re probably looking at Maddison competition but I don’t look at Elliott and think instant upgrade.

This shit show is actually hitting worse than others because I stupidly actually started to believe that things might have actually changed. We won a major European trophy, seemed to back Frank by getting in staff he wanted, signed Kudus and next day we were signing 60m MGW and talk of finally some investment.
This is why this one hits different cos I'm actually pissed with myself for thinking things might have changed.
This just reaffirms what most of knew, we have owners who don't give a shit about competing or doing what's best for the football club they only care about the entertainment business.

If anyone still has appetite for the ITK chancers

"Prof on coys:

i think the last 2 weeks, we’ve actually stepped away knowing this would happen

There is some truth to this. Perhaps not 'knowing', but 'strongly suspecting'.

If we bidded 62 million rather than the exact release clause, would this have happened?

Yes.

what a twit MGW is
he was dicking us about

If it turns out his decision was partly influenced by a personal situation, this post might be considered quite a mean-spirited thing to write.

I reckon the circumstances with his wife's pregnancy had a big influence

The rational amongst us wouldn't be surprised if it was at least one of the factors.

this MGW situation seemed to hold up our other transfer business

My understanding is that this is untrue."

Transfer window closes 1st September so we could be playing our first 3 premier League games (Burnley Man City and Bournemouth) with Kudus as the only improvement to last year's starting 11.

Our first game is 3 weeks tomorrow..

What an absolute waste of the last two weeks waiting for this shit show to play out.

I’d rather go for Grealish for a couple of years than Elliott. Obviously Eze is the one but we seem to be happy enough to let the scum sign him rather than pushing the boat out to bring him in.

I can see the sense in signing an experienced Palhinha in central midfield but Grealish has been poor for a good couple of seasons and will demand astronomical wages. Albeit a different style of player, he’s the next version of a veteran Sterling and Werner.

We finished 17th and don’t pay top wages. Winning a lesser European trophy doesn’t make up for either of those things in terms of our ability to sign important players.

Normally clubs sell their best players to teams that are better than them. I can understand why Forest refused to contemplate selling to a team that finished 27 points behind them. It would be humiliating for them.

Probably shouldn't be surprised by this news (though I am).

Last season, I reached a point where I detached myself from the weekly defeats. It was self preservation, but it helped. The Europa League win was amazing. And yes, I started feeling hope again.

But the lack of ambition being shown by Levy is unforgivable.

Need to figure out how to get that coping mechanism kicking in a bit earlier this season.

Was never sold on MGW to be honest. Played well in a team that surrendered the ball and had to lowest passing and touch stats in the league - the opposite of Spurs style.

Demonstrates we are willing to spend, and it wouldn't surprise me if we don't already have a to announce tomorrow.

Eze would be the obvious target. My mate at telegraph recons some player called Enzo Millot
How has this farce demonstrated anything?

The only thing that would demonstrate we are willing to spend is actually fucking doing it.
