Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

seriously, was it so unreasonable to think that after the europa league lifeline that we'd kick on with a few good signings to turn the ship around from the disaster of the last season and a half? that we'd try and repay the supporters with a bit of ambition after they stuck with the club through the ange debacle?

Yeah the jokes on him, he’s sectioned and doesn’t even realize

Tbh I think City got better value for less with Cherki and Reijnders.

Everyone else just saw the 60m as an overpay, which it was.

There are better players available for that tbh. If I’m guessing, we liked the 60m because hev wasn’t asking for big wages.

I did think it a lot of money. However, and not picking on you, are we now in the “it doesn’t matter we didn’t get him” phase of transfer window. At least it’s happened before August!

I hate them with a burning passion but fair play.

Won the league title but didn’t become complacent at all. Invested heavily to ensure that they get even stronger..

This is something Levy would never have done.

They are selling Dais, Darwin Nunez and Elliot apparently. 3 very good footballers so they can invest in one Isak superstar. So they are selling to concentrate quality. That’s 3 Udogie type level players sold to buy one Haaland type level player.

As opposed to the spammers. I’d only want him to piss them off. If they are selling him though they must be aware of some future betting charges or something. A lot of money to risk if he’s going to get in trouble.

£30m sounds cheap, he is every bit as good as MGW. While not as technical or creative as Maddison he would be our best all round central midfielder if he came. He never looks out of place when up against Rodri or Bruno G.

Totally agree, he would have sold off players, in his mind you have won it now so reduce the wages.
Liverpool showing how a big club should act, maybe we are not a big club, more a medium sized one.
We have the infrastructure of a palace and yet, prefer to furnish it with second half furniture.

Oh, I'd bet my arse it's vanished. I'd be surprised if it actually existed.

£70m Guehi bid became £25m for Danso after half a season on loan.

I have absolutely no idea what lunatic is linking us to Rodrygo or anyone for £90m
At this stage, it feels like theres literally teams of people who are out to humiliate us. Players, agents, media, aggregaters the lot.
With the £45m left from not getting Guehi and the £60m from not getting MGW, we can afford Rodrygo for £90m and still have £15m left over for Werner's loan fee + wages :sarrthink:

Big club is a weird term. To me it means actual support base. The way I see a big club is if you had 100k stadium with normal ticket prices could you fill it each week. I think we could, I think Woolwich, Liverpool and United could and that’s probably about it so I think we fit the definition. Maybe Villa and Newcastle might just about as well, not even 100% on Chelsea with this.

What we are not is an ambitious club or one with wealthy benefactors and that is more important. Our ownership needs a reset or change.
