Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

People keep saying this shit - but it makes zero fucking sense that the club would keep doing that to fans??

Explain to me a single reason why the club would want to trick fans for 3 days and get their hopes up, knowing that they are going to piss them off even more when it doesnt happen.

What you are talking about, and attributing to the club, is news publications that generate revenue from clicks and website visits. That is it.

If you choose to believe it and 'dream' for a few days, then that is 100% solely on you, my friend, and it might be a good idea, if you can't hack reading the news during silly season, to maybe just not?

Easy.

How can you come to conclusion Liverpool be all in on Isak ?

How can you come to conclusion Chelsea after Simons ?

Surely just media talk, and you don’t believe media talk without pure quotes as you showed with MGW.

Your totally weird ostrich behaviour should mean you cannot comment on transfers for any club until they are signed

Yeah I’m chatting shit, we are all chatting shit in this thread.

We are talking about signing Rodrygo ffs. What made you think any of this is anything other than chatting shit about silly season speculation?

So, yeah I agree.

Which means you agree with me that most of that MGW story was the same clickbait bullshit to sell clicks, right?

I don't understand why anyone is talking about Rodrygo.
He's played 270 times for the biggest club in the world. Why would they sell. Why would he leave. Where would he actually go if he did?

Makes no sense whatsoever.

With how much Liverpool have already spent and with them about to spend another 120+ on isak, there’s surely no chance they would also sign Rodrigo. So this should be a realistic target, but we all know it isn’t.

There is every chance they will also go for Rodrigo....it's seems Liverpool are going for a major rebuild this summer, money no object

Staggers me, really does. We actually have grown ups on here that think Levy is playing some kind of teasing game with the fanbase. A man in charge of an organisation worth billions is spending his time and energy coming up with scenarios to fool fans into thinking he’s doing stuff that he really isn’t. Fucking wet wipe idiots think this.

A lot more likely that Levy has it in mind that his way of self sufficiency will eventually work and is too proud to admit it won’t. Also, chuck in the sheer inability to do things correctly and this is where the problem lies.

It’s certainly not Levy being some kind of practical joker.

Obv not saying we’ll get Rodrygo, but one thing about him according to Andy Brassell is that he was really put out by Mbappe’s arrival and his ‘star quality’ seemingly really put rodrygo’s nose out of joint.

If he came here, he’d be the big fish again, he’d likely taken sonny’s 7 shirt which is a big deal for the club.. maybe Richy’s put a word in.

Transfer news reminds me of those old war movies where aircraft drop chaff to try to confuse and overwhelm radar. There are so many sources of "news" and most don't have much in the way of personnel or reporting skills. The Morgan Gibbs-White affair is a classic example. I like watching YouTube videos from a reporter who covers Spurs, but a week or so in I realized he really didn't know anything more about how Spurs came to make an offer, what was stopping the deal from occurring, or what the legal ramifications of release clauses were than I did. About the only thing you can trust in is that point where all the reporting seems to converge around the same player, which I take to mean that the player and clubs are talking it about to multiple sources. A lot of what comes out is probably just agents trying to make it appear there's more interest in their client than actually exists.

If he has such a high opinion about himself then he won't be interested in Tottenham

Being a big fish at Spurs will mean nothing to his ego if he considers himself an elite Real Madrid level player

I don’t believe it, but you see the way social media aggregators work. Pretty soon it’s all over the place that “we’re in for Rodrygo” and the more casual fan who’s not as obsessed by the transfer grind as the people who post in this thread just sees that.
