Last time TFC had a party; JT fucked off for a fortnight and changed his name.

There's also the fact that in the past few windows we've needed some HG players having lost Kane, Winks, Skipp, Dier etc...... Hense Maddison, Johnson, Grey, Solanke etc.
To do your schtick for you, for many years we all complained about our unwillingness to pay the "English tax", but that's exactly what some of these recent deals represent.

The squad rules are the squad rules, they're the same for every club, you have to have domestic players one way or another.

And by contrast you also believe this of yourself as you are disagreeing with those posters.

The difference between you and them is that the evidence supports them
Calling them out for making stuff up with no inside knowledge to actually believing that I know what's going on is a bit of leap, don't you think? You have some pretty weird logic.

And no, the evidence doesn't support them, because there is no evidence. No one knows what is going on behind the scenes. They're just making shit up.

My two pence worth.
I’ve never been a fan of chairmen, who are primarily business men rather than football men, getting involved in transfers. Surely a better structure is for the board to say for example that you have a budget of x pounds plus sales. Then the football people such as scouting team, coach and DoF decide who they want with that budget and go get them. Chairmen don’t need to, nor should they, be directly involved in transfers.
Chairmen and board should set parameters and let the others go to work, that’s what they’re employed to do.

As for Levy, I'm neither for not against. I have posted many times that he needs to step back from the football operations and establish a world class team to run them. But at the same time I also recognize how far he has brought us compared to other clubs that were of similar size to us when he took over. Apparently this is anathema for the Levy Out crowd, who repeat the same arguments over and over and over again and never acknowledge anything good the current regime has done. It's this blinkered view that I make fun of and in their eyes, if I'm not against him and echo their feelings, well gosh darn it, I must be a Levy boot licker. It's quite Trumpian, actually, and pretty sad.

Then it’s surprising how vehement you are about haranguing those with whom you’re halfway towards agreeing.

Grant Levy some credit for navigating THFC into prosperous waters; however, one would have to be a master of mismanagement to uncouple the carriage from the runaway train that is the Premier League and not make a decent fist of it.

Clubs of comparable size? We were arguably the biggest club in London, whilst Chelsea were purchased for a solitary quid not long prior. I’d argue it’s not as great an achievement relatively, let alone compared to what we haven’t won on the playing field.

Nolens volens, he’s here, but folk are well within their rights to be critical.
