What an incredible man and player. Even though I wanted him to move on now, I'm in bits now reading and watching all this.
Loyalty is a very rare thing especially these days, and especially given the state of us at points over the years. He could have played for any team in the world but he chose to stay with us and light up our team for 10 years. Never gave up on his dream to win us a trophy ♥️

Thank you so much Sonny ♥️
Best of luck for everything ♥️

I think what madders said in that interview is what means the most to me and is what makes Son so special.

For me it's not about his footballing skills which would take me ages to write what I truly think but most have covered it here already.

The most poignant point about Heung-Min Son is how he conducts himself as a person.

I know people who aren't remotely interested in football but know about Son and often comment in the way he comes across as a person. We live in an age where with social media kids and adults too pick up on the minutae of global superstars. But there hasn't been a single incident on or off the pitch involving Son that has been even remotely controversial. (andre gomes was accidental, even andre admitted it but some stupid Everton fans still go on about it).

None of us are able to comprehend the pressure this man carries on a daily basis. He puts his entire nation on his shoulders and now because of his status the rest of the world expects so much from him and yet his humbleness, humility and kindness shines through every day and most importantly does it with a smile on his face.

And credit has to be given to his family for that, his dad, mum and brother have instilled discipline which is typical of their culture but also to do it with such a human touch is what makes Sonny unique.
For youngsters and adults too for that matter watching celebrities and idolising individuals, personally I don't think anyone comes close to Sonny. If you want a role model to look up to, Son is head and shoulders above the rest. If people can emulate even a fraction of his humanistic values the world would be a better place.

I was there in Bilbao, and not many things have given me pure, unbridled satisfaction as watching Sonny lift that trophy. I screamed at the top of my voice in the same way he did and every other Spurs fan watching. A greedy part of me wants to see him do it again in Udine for the Super Cup, and then for him to walk out to a guard of honour and tifo, with the Europa League trophy in one hand and the Super cup in the other hand on the first day of the season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

고맙습니다, 소니

Pretty obvious this LA deal has been agreed for quite a while now, and now the Korea tour is nearly over, we are getting snippets coming through that the "deal is advanced" and "nearly sealed".

No, the deal has been done for weeks. They've just all kept it quiet for the Korea tour.

What's the bet as soon as we leave Korea, the deal will be confirmed within hours / days.
Agree- beyond that I wager it’s likely LAFC requested it to be announced on the tour to maximize media impact in the Korean market.

Such a shame Son is leaving, been a great servant for the club.

Still, I bet there's a few teams that will be relieved they don't have to face him next season, and none more so than our first opponents in the Premier League.

Look at the fucking numbers.

The bargain of the decade for Spurs, outside of Kane who came through the youths.

These stats will never be bettered from an incoming transfer in the modern era.

Levy shouldn't even think about a statue of the man, it should be commissioned this season.

Haven't gone to bed yet, spent the night watching clips of Sonny. My eyes are sore as hell and that ain't just screen overexposure.

Yeah he's 33 and unlikely to recover his Golden Boot form or something close to it...mainly the man has more than earned the right to decide his next move...but going into a new season knowing Sonny won't be with us anymore, man oh man.

Absolute Rolls Royce of a player, unstoppable on his day, that trademark curler, those amazing runs, his partnership with Kane one the best things I've seen in football. Proper Spurs, loves the club like no other. And what a person...such a kind, clever, humble, well-spoken family man.

Sonny, my door will always be open, you will always have a seat at my table. Thank you a zillion times for the memories. Have a blast in the US of A. Proper Spurs legend.
