Ex-Spurs Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Other footballers just don't sound the same.

You can almost touch his emtion it's that real.

So talented, so popular yet so humble.

What an extraordinary person he really is.

If not already mentioned, fair play to the barcodes on his send off
Very genuine and a reflection of how Sonny was viewed in the wider football world.
Aye, I don’t know of a single true fan of any club (except a couple of blues) who doesn’t have a mighty opinion of him as a footballer and also as a bloke. Marvellous on both counts.

One of very few that can transcend rivalries and be loved by football fans for just being a great footballer and a decent chap. Couple here may not agree but the only other one that came close for me to his widespread respect was Zola.

Greaves and gazza for me are top of the pile

I was trying to look for players who put in about a decade of service - and those two in particular are recognised as the heartbeat of our greatest ever side.
In a time that squads were very small too.

Although god knows what the pace of the game was like in those days, players used to smoke at half time!!
I guess they were also allowed to kick the absolute shit out of each other too though!!

My old man always reckoned white was THE player of the double team and we were never quite the same after he passed . And NO DOUBTS Greaves was THE English player of that decade and next to gazza, are the ONLY Englishmen that have brushed the heels of the true genius class IE Pele maradona level ..but semantics..and yeah it was accepted that certain players would kick the shit out of the more fleet footed and get away with it... Think Vinny Jones on Gary Stephens...it went on WAY to look long .. a kid I used to play with early 90's said he walked out on a man utd youth team cos during a training session they wanted to teach him how to break an opponents leg !! FFS ...

My statement wasn't so much that Sonny can't cut it here because he's in the toughest league, but just an outright statement that it is the toughest league.

In the last 10 years there have been 7 different teams in the top two of the premier league, in La Liga there's been 3. Germany and Italy have had 6 teams each, however you wouldn't say that Schalke, Stuttgart, Roma or Lazio would get anywhere near our top 4.

I could have said the Premier League is the most competitive, but that's just semantics really.

From 2015 to 2025 La Liga won the UCL 6 times. 6! Two different teams.

From 2015 to 2025 La Liga won the EL 5 times. Two different teams.

If you were to extend back one more season to 2014, you would see an all Madrid UCL final: Real Madrid vs. Atlético de Madrid. If RM hadn’t made that final, we like have a third Spanish team winning the UCL.

The EL was won by Sevilla that 2014 season.

So, from 2015 to 2025 La Liga has won a combined 11 times with four different clubs.

The top two sides in Spain have been superior to the top two sides in all the other leagues. The EL Spanish team (5th in the league) has been the top EL side from 2015 to 2025.

In other words, the top top teams are in La Liga. The best tier 2 teams are also in La Liga. Historically for a while, but specifically for the years you happened to pick.

La Liga is the top league in the world. It’s not even close.
