That doesn’t mean they weren’t doing it.
I can confirm they were doing this drill last season, I saw it with my own eyes in the warm ups before games.

The issue was it kind of became pointless during most of the games because our fullbacks was never really in the "fullbacks position" when defending until late season.

Have no idea what Hansi Flick has to do with it...twitter bollocks I guess

I think he is less polarizing, we're defending deep so we may not concede many, keeper long balling out, rarely on the front foot so we won't score many either, I can't see us at the pointy end of winning anything but won't have the doom merchants out either, less exciting ( for better or worse). Nothing really daring and not much doing. Its all a bit "meh" tbh.

Disagree- I think Frank stands a good chance of being here a very long time.

Id love that to be true but its a tough gig and hes going to need alot of luck and understanding.
As it stands its quite possible that in order to get results this coming season we will more often than not see something along the lines of nuno 2.0. Yes we may try be a tad more adventurous.
However this is not because thats Frank's style but instead what is going to be needed to get results with what we have.

I was hoping that we would show big ambition In the transfer window that would elevate us quality wise above the pl mid table teams but its looking unlikely. Its quite possible that the likes of palace, Brighton, Fulham will come to our ground and take control of games just as they did last season.

If fans are prepared to tolerate that and accept that as being where we are right now then yes thomas will be just fine. But let's face it, it wont be.

That's a bit pessimistic, Optimistic.

I think Levy will accept a finish as low as 8th this next season, and winning nothing, so long as we make respectable efforts in all our comps. Second season I can see Frank being required to make a top 5 finish and a deep EL run. I think he can do it though- we have some really great young talent and he will make us very difficult to beat outright, especially with our quality of defenders, and even more now with Palhinha. We already look so much better, and we even kept Romero. The spine of our team is pretty effing tough right now.

Agree though that we could really use at least one more quality attacker, preferably a CAM. I’m really hoping we go in for Eze or someone similar. The MGW thing was a real bust as he would have been perfect for us.

The last echo of Angeball!!

It wasn’t exciting. And was abandoned when it most mattered

Thank you!

Probably every team in the world does it.

But the difference, like you just said is the tactical philosophy of the two managers, not the coaching of that run of the mill drill

Worryingly I think you are right about the clubs ambition for the next 2 seasons.

I might be tempted to do more games if the club wanted to win trophies and give everyone the buzz that we got from the Europa win

But I guess the priority will be the accountants wet dream of top 4

I was never keen on Frank but once he got the job you have to give him a chance. However I am massively concerned about the style of play I've seen so far... 38% possession against Newcastle is woeful and as you said, it feels like we are going to try and grind out results with terrorist football. It will be ok if he grinds out wins but as soon as those wins become draws and those draws become defeats he will be rightly criticised. You don't get the luxury of time in football. If we struggle this season he will be replaced and rightly so. We can then bury the myth that a half decent coach would have last seasons squad in and around top six.

No way we should be accepting that BS. Highest season ticket in Europe to watch Bournemouth run rings round us. Fuck off... protests before second International break and Frank out chants by Xmas if that shit happens.

Good riposte... nice to know we have some in our fanbase happy to eat a shit sandwich every season.
