Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We MUST buy a 10 (preferably 2) and I’m sure we will. Hell, El Khannouss has a 22 mil release clause if it comes to it. There are plenty of options. Eze would be my choice but Levy won’t pay the release clause due to the upfront percentage required. I’d only take Grealish on a loan and only paying half his wages.

All we are being linked with the last couple of days are players who won’t come like Rodrygo etc.

The way this window is going I’d be happy with a 10 and a striker, but that’s a minimum requirement and I’m doubtful we get anything but a 10, and not of the quality we need or should be aiming for.

It's very close but according to transfer market in all competitions Grealish pips Werner by 14 to 13 (neither of them set the world alight though)

Timo Werner
23/24
Goals 4
Assists 5

24/25
Goals 1
Assists 3

Total Goals/Assists last two seasons 13

Jack Grealish
23/24
Goals 3
Asissts 3

24/25
Goals 3
Assists 5

Total Goals/Assists last two seasons 14
You’re including Werner’s 23/24 Bundesliga stats;
For us Werner in 23/24 got 2 goals and 4 assists, for Leipzig he got 2 and 1.

So in England, Werner’s sitting on 10 G/A in the past two seasons to Grealish’s 14, but regardless, both are shit and have put up shocking numbers.

If only there were over 3 weeks left of the window

Chill everyone , be a proper fan like me

Don Lange moves in the shadows. Plus I reckon Frank's system will be the no.10 in this side , similar to how Ange's system was the striker

“I would rather have Richarlison as a striker in Ange’s system than Kane”

Actual words that were typed on here by more than one poster.

Is that all for Spurs? He only joined in January 2024 and missed the last half a dozen or so games.
Based on that, he should be a £100m player if he had 11 goal involvements in that short period.

South American football expert Tim Vickery on Sky Sports News discussing Rodrygo, who has been a reported target for Woolwich:

"Let’s watch this space over the next few weeks because this could be interesting.
"Rodrygo has the Real Madrid dilemma that it’s hard for players to be top dog there and he’s so talented – almost absurdly talented.
"But someone has to do the hard yards and Jude Bellingham said last year that he considered Rodrygo the most talented of all of them and the one who has to sacrifice himself the most for the side.

"Where does Xabi Alonso see him? Because he can play anywhere across the front line. He didn’t use him very much in the Club World Cup and when he did, it was wide right.
"We know Rodrygo doesn’t want to play wide right. He would far prefer a free role. Now what we understand is that he’s very keen on staying at Real Madrid and proving that he can be a key part of that side.
"Over the next two weeks , if that doesn’t happen, then he might start looking around and what an asset he would be.
"It’s a waste to have him as a bit-part player, filling in spaces or playing wide on the right. You want him roaming free, dropping his little bombs all around the opposing goal."

Timo Werner contributed more G/As over the last 2 seasons than Grealish.

Because Timo Werner is a plays on the last shoulder direct attacker and Grealish has spent seasons playing as a deep winger whose role was to retain the ball draw fouls and be a generally effective tactical option under Pep.

His numbers at Villa where he was giving licence to create and score were superior. These comparisons are stupid. I don’t want us to sign Grealish but he’s a much better footballer than Timo Werner.
