Ex-Spurs Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wait, the whole of Cali is a shithole, you realize it is bigger than the entire UK right. You don’t like California? Based on what—spending 48 hours stuck in LA traffic? That’s like judging Europe after a layover in Heathrow. California isn’t just LA—it’s world-class ski resorts in Tahoe and Mammoth, ancient redwood forests up north, Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks, the vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, the rugged coastline of Big Sur, the deserts of Joshua Tree, the beaches of San Diego, and the tech capital of the world in Silicon Valley. It’s basically an entire continent masquerading as a state. So yeah—if you didn’t like California, chances are you barely saw it
I've done San Francisco, Yosemite, LA, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica and others I can't even remember.

Sometimes, as an Englishman, I'm embarrassed by my countrymen.

He's right. Your comment was dumb.

Might wanna take it on the chin and move on.

As a frequent world traveller I was genuinely underwhelmed by LA but I was told I had visited the wrong city (SF) and while the topic was about LA the state is apparently beautiful. Good luck Son you will have even more SK backing than London.

He should deffo get a bust in the atrium.

As emotional as his departure has made me, statues should be reserved for those that win the league or Champions league.

He’s without doubt the greatest signing we ever made in the premier league era, (which makes our current strategy all the more infuriating).

It’s going to be so strange not seeing him around. He really stuck by us in his prime years when things started getting rocky, and that makes him unique.

Sheringham, Judas, Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale, Walker, Eriksen, Kane, all flew the coop.

King we can’t guarantee that he would have stayed if it wasn’t due to his knee issues.

We don't even have a statue for our league winning team / manager - the closest thing is the bust of Bill Nic.

I disagree though. I think it's good to have statues honouring our best players, and I don't think they should need to win a title first. There are plenty of crappy players in other teams who won leagues or CL's - not winning a trophy shouldn't detract from being part of a club's history.

you cant just dish out statues willy nilly, thats seriously small time and would be laughed at by rivals and rightly so.

you need to have done something phenomenal to deserve a statue.

"Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy said: "Sonny is one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt and he has been a joy to watch over the past decade.

"Not only is he a wonderfully gifted footballer, but he's also an incredible human being who has touched hearts and inspired people throughout the club and all over the world.

"Sonny has given so much to this club, both on and off the pitch, and for that we are forever grateful.

"We wish him all the best for the future, and he will always be welcome back at the club as a beloved and cherished member of our Spurs family."

Probably the nicest thing I've ever heard him say. Agree completely.
Son the man who made Daniel Levy feel something which some people would describe as an emotion.

Surely Sons greatest achievement in his entire career.

No-one is talking about dishing them out willy-nilly.

There are no statues outside our stadium. Are you trying to tell me Bill Nic didn't deserve one? Or maybe Jimmy Greaves?

Kane is Englands record goalscorer (and still going), our record goalscorer, the 2nd highest scoring striker in the Prem, 9 times our highest scorer in a season. With Son he forms the record goalscoring Duo in PL history. Son is the outstanding Asian footballer of the generation, PL golden boot winner, stayed with us a decade and won a European trophy as captain. What about these things feels willy-nilly?

billy nic should have one yes, kane and son, no. kane won fuck all, if we had won the CL or the prem then yea.

It's as much a culture thing as it is a loyalty thing.
It's not unusual for Europeans to move around jobs whereas, as far as I know, Koreans, Japanese and possibly other Asians place a lot of value on loyalty to employers.
Had a £100m bid come in for Son 5 years ago, I wonder what the clubs, and indeed Sons reaction would have been?
Son might have fancied it both for himself, and for the club to get a massive wad of cash.

He was also under a cloud of national service for a large chunk of his spurs career don't forget.

Kane is unique though. He's the clubs all time top scorer AND a youth product.
What if he came back this summer and became the leagues all time top scorer and retired a Spurs player in 4-5 years?
yea maybe an argument for it then, to be the league's all time top dog while scoring them all for spurs is pretty special. still think the game is about winning, hes won nothing, and hes had chances and didnt show up.

He can fuck himself tbh. Way he left was an embarrassment, a snapchat video from a golf course was all we got
A player leaving in his prime, against his clubs wishes, vs a player in his twighlight with every ones blessing.

What exactly did you expect? If rumours are to be believed, Kane was as good as banned from even emptying his locker by the club.
