I don't even want to watch this game. Winning that Europa League has actually worked out so bad for us. Covered over all the cracks meaning a lack of investment. Now we've to play in a competition we will be completely out of our depth in and we don't have the squad to manage it meaning we'll rack up crazy injuries again and be down near the bottom half.

We also get to start the season by getting absolutely destroyed by a far better team than us who will be licking their wounds after having a very rare off day against Chelsea.

Meanwhile united had the sobering reality of finishing 15th and winning nothing. They have invested upon 300m into their team without selling anyone yet. They look much much stronger now and only have to deal with 1 game a week this season.

Only Tottenham could make winning a trophy a disaster. We've turned our best night in 40 years into a worst case scenario by not grabbing the CL money and investing into a squad that came 17th last season while playing in a far easier European competition! Jokers

You really believe that Levy would have spent? I'm absolutely sure he wouldn't have.

So in that sense it's going to surface more cracks than it will conceal.

There's a way in which the trophy win saves Levy's blushes in certain ways, but the way it adds a note of finality to the Pochettino story which still loomed so enormously in everybody's heads I think has proven beneficial and allowed people to open their eyes to how far we have fallen from that period.

"ENIC is a spent force that can't push us forward in the future" is a bigger tent that convinces more people to speak out than "ENIC is evil and always was"

He has to go 3 at the back for this match.

Not only to sure up the defense, but because we need to get Porro higher up the pitch. He's the only playmaker we have. Romero is the only player who can play out of the back.

Kudus the only hold up player we have. Johnson to run the channels on the counter.

Very grim

Wonder he could set up like poch used to before with palhinha playing the dier role and dropping in and out of the back 3?

Morning Admin Admin !

Now that this is the next game in our fixture list, would it be possible to expand the title a bit, to something like Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm ...?

This would make it easier for bozos like me* to find it - and remember when it is!

*the place is crawling with 'em

So, if we scrape a win then we are super cup champions of Europe

If we lose it’s just the European community shield anyway

And if we win we will lose at home to Burnley, that’s how we roll

Some fans want him to defend better because last season he attacked too much! So we worked on that and saw how defensive he was yesterday and how drab it was. Richy was up front and we chose for him to be defensive and not attacking crosses in. Fml

What exactly do we want?

Not bothered about this game. I only come here so I can click through to Carol Vorderman (64), leaving nothing to the imagination in a Hot Bikini.

This game should be just the confidence booster we need (joke), after yesterday's humiliation, in the run-up to what is actually a very important season-opener against Burnley. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if Thomas fielded a team of kids and saved the first team for the Burnley game.

We need to get the balance right.

Under Ange we were far too attacking and left ourselves exposed all game. Frank has us setup far too defensive. We don't create any chances in these pre season games. Very poo goal return. Almost playing for a 0-0 draw. If Sarr doesn't dink Raya from halfway then that game ends 0-0 too.

we could easily go from being the most exciting team in the league to the most boring. We won't care if it means success but not sure it will.
