This feels like a last hurrah tbh. If we don't sign one of these then it's panic stations. I imagine Lange has been removed from all negotiations at this stage. Levy will want it to appear like he's saved the day

They can't and won't fuck up. Levy is all too weary of the wrath of this forum if he doesn't get his act together. We'll likely get one of these players, just enough to keep us from frothing at the bit.

Comparing Johnson to Sesko is a ridiculous equivalency, they offer different things, in different positions. Again, like what club is going to pay £60m for him. None of the top 6 would, don't see Newcastle being that desperate. I guess Murphy is also a £60m player?

He does one thing very well, but the other parts of his game aren't good enough. A blind man can see that. £20m and him for GMW wouldn't be that outlandish, certainly not peanuts, and key player? If Savinho is indeed signed, he's going to be a rotation player, not a key player.

My point was that proven goal scorers cost good money.

Giving Forest Johnson and £60m is possibly the worst business decision we could make.

If we got both we should have 4th in our sights plus a cup win.

Top 3 are in their own lane but we'd have every right to give Chelsea a run for 4th with:

He's not even extremely limited. He is just not a dribbling wizard and he doesn’t work hard defensively.

There's at least 10 players in that squad who deserve kicking to the curb before he does.
