Match Super Cup Final - Spurs vs PSG, Weds 13th Aug, 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don't believe he was sulking as when he came on, he certainly didn't look like a player with swagger and a point to prove.

He just looked very poor.

And Solanke just didn't have the legs in him to do what Kudus and Richarlison had done for the preceding 70 minutes. He looked slow and lethargic as you expect from someone who's been out injured.

Gray was poor too, maybe the subs were just poorly prepared or not the right fit to enter a game like it.

2 kids and a half fit solanke. In retrospect youd have wanted bissouma to be one of them

One more thing, not to return to Spursy again, can we please build on and use players proven for the big occasions? We can discuss Johnsons general abilities, but he knows how to score and make vital contributions in the games that matters the most. He has done it several times!

Tel was obviously the wrong call, and with Franks subs and parking the bus strategy in the end, it kind of ruins an else excellent night for Frank.
Yeah you're right mate, what we needed was a "player" who can't keep the ball under pressure and is only effective when the ball is swung across the box from the opposite flank into the box, that would definitely would have helped protect a 2-0 lead.

Because he was "Our number one option", signed a week before the season starts when he could've been signed in June/July.

Nice lad, but he is not a footballer that should be playing at this level. I looked at the table last season and from 1 down, the first club he starts at would've been Everton who finished 13th. Wild.
Yep, should be a £20m England HG player for Europe who is 2nd choice CF at best.

Good performance, but how are we planning to score from open play this season? Solanke doesn't get shots off, Kudus is very good but not a great scorer, we don't have goalscoring midfielders, Odobert and Tel don't seem likely to score many, Johnson can score but can't do anything else. We're going to need an unprecedented set-piece scoring rate

Cheers for your contribution, champ

Off to fuck you go :dembelefingers:

No idea why some people are signed up for this site, it’s so obvious they aren’t spurs fans.
I'm all for criticism when its warranted but fucking hell that was hardly the first half away to Everton last season or Leicester at home. Dissapointing not to see it out but anyone looking at that side before kick off, thinking we'd play as well as we did is lying. The last 18 months of total shite isnt getting turned around in 5 pre season games. We need new players and sharpish.

I assume we'll setup like we did tonight against City and will be fine. We'll be hard to beat.

I'm actually more concerned for this weekend. I want to see how Frank approaches the game and if we can create loads of chances at home to Burnley. Tactically, this weekend is the big test for Frank. I'm not worried about him in the hard fixtures at all.
Intriguing v city in my eyes. Will we stand firm be dangerous or get picked off easily? We will find out.

I think the biggest shame here is that if we had gotten this one over the line we would have had a huge shot to our confidence and belief in Frank's methods immediately before the season begins. I think the players would really react to such an impact in the short term.

Unfortunately with the nature of the way the game went it will hurt a lot, being 2-0 up and then letting it slip. I'm sure the players will be professional enough to get their heads down and crack on but damn we really could have done with that added confidence that would have come from a big result tonight.
Franks methods are Brentford. Small club mentality “let’s steal the game from the better team”. If Spurs are going to progress they need a manager who knows that to win the league you’re going to have to “go for it”. That requires going into every game mentally as the favourite and taking the match to ManC, Woolwich, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. Fuck the result let’s believe in what we have instead if trying to restrict “better teams”

Awful lot for Tel to do to convince anyone that he can make it here.

He played 18 minutes and was absolutely nowhere near anything, his touch was abysmal and offered absolutely no relief for the defenders.

Proud of the team though - but this proves we're still a couple of decent players away from being truly competitive for the full 90 minutes.

And the performance was light years away from what I was expecting.

Frank's job to sort Tel but bigger picture, is that with 2 or 3 players we might do infinitely better than many of us thought.

Now for Levy to step up.
