In order to do that we have to technically good enough player to player. They are leagues ahead of us in that sense. Our press an intensity for 70 mins was all over them, we are never keeping the ball from a team coached to do just that for a long time.
Don't know, but I guess Palhinha still needs to build up full fitness, and the coaching team would have been monitoring him closely. Can't risk injury.

Desire too - don't forget desire. We showed desire tonight. It was sadly lacking last season, but it returned tonight. Okay we conceded two late goals and lost the lottery of a penalty shoot-out, but for large parts of the game we wanted it much more than they did. I liked that.

I know it was a glorified friendly, but it would have been a great psychological boon to have beaten the current best team in the world and put another trophy in the cabinet.
It's true that PSG haven't had a proper game in a month and that, last time out, they looked exhausted. It's also true that they only got back together again last Wednesday. They are still the world's top team, by a distance, and we could (should!) have won it. I think Frank will learn from this. His handling of the end phase was not good but if he is as clued in as he appears to be, we will be the better for it.
We have a reasonably straightforward challenge in our opening ten games or so in the league. There is no reason for us not to get off to a flyer and reinforce the confidence the squad must have from winning the Europa and coming so close to pulling off an upset this evening. COYS!
