One question on Richy.
What did we buy him for?
I am puzzled how a player who has scored on average just seven goals a season for us, is held in such high regard?
TBF, we were playing the CL winners with a squad that costs €100M more in wages per season than any other European club and which features the betting favorite for the Balon d'Or.
Everyone, including ourselves on TFC, expected to get thumped.
The fact that we were ±1 minute away from winning doesn't really support your point.
But - I do agree we have to get better and need additions. Because it doesn't disprove your point, either.

Yes they can. It wasn’t the penalty miss that was the issue. It was the fact that he came on and the first thing he did was clumsily give the ball away. The second thing he did was give a stupid foul away in a very dangerous position on the edge of our box. He offered nothing. Just doesn’t look good enough
Richy didn’t score but led the line well, and held the ball up, and won free kicks. The complete opposite of Tel who lost the ball and gave away free kicks

Whilst obviously disappointing to lose in the lottery of the penalty shoot out, the full time result exceeded my expectations, even if it wasn't a PSG at their best its still more than decent opposition.
Its an improvement that we don't look as vulnerable to concede goals, that is until we come up against real quality like Bayern and when PSG put on their subs.
As for goals, set pieces and the CB's getting on the end of crosses are well and good, but we also need creativity in midfield and strikers that can finish and I'm yet to see that under Frank.

My expectations for Richarlson are higher than for Tel right now.
Glad that it hurts him so much, and not thinking it's a glorified friendly by UEFA like how people wants to make up to be. Clearly a winner to wanna win against the best to be the best. Winning is a habit and breed confidence and morale to carry into the new season. I really hope Frank and the squad are fully disappointed and bring the desire forward.
We won’t see that under any manager with Maddison injured. That is entirely on the club to bring in Eze and Salvinho. If Frank can’t get them to be creative that is on him but right now we don’t have much going forward.
So this window you were expecting us to build a squad that was at the required level to beat the absolute best team in Europe.
