It is but if you rate Eze and Salvinho at Kudus level or higher which I do think about how much Kudus transformed us then when he went off last night affected us badly. Now think of 3 Kudus level players in our attack. That is transformational. £70m for a brilliant talent is better than £50m for a half decent one.
This is where Spurs have gone wrong in the past imo. Solanke, Richarlison, Johnson etc. Over 160m + 350-400k a week combined? Why not go next level and look for two 70-80m players and give them 180-200k a week.

Even £50m isn't a bargain......... If they won't budge on £70m then fuck it. There must be another better winger out there for that money.

I don't see savinho as the one worth breaking the bank for either with 1 goal to his name.

Eze, yes
MGW, yes
Baleba, yes
Mbeumo, yes
Cunha, yes
Gyokores, yes
Sesko, yes
Ekitike, yes
Raphael leao, maybe...Big gamble
Lautaro martinez, yes
Osimhen, yes
Donnarumma, yes

(I'm aware ship has sailed on many of these and many aren't realistic either)

Eze start of next week, Savinho end of next week?

Prayer GIF

Going to be honest, I disagree here.

Liverpool have consistently overpaid when they’ve been sure on a player and they are the champions.
Totally agree on this, I just don't see Savinho as that player.

Eze is that player, I'd pay 80 for him without breaking a sweat. That is THE guy.

Savinho is the left footed winger that persuaded Pep he could sell Palmer.
He sold Palmer a year before buying Savinho, and in any event, selling Palmer was a catastrophe! He was obviously very wrong in scouting that position!

Because Spurs needed to fill the squad with both numbers of players as well as reasonable/serviceable quality players over last 4 years - hence Solanle, Johnson, Odobert, Romero, Bentancur, many pretty decent quality with the odd slip op with inconsistent Bissouma, but for the most part a serviceable squad, albeit light on star players - and getting up to the squad size we need, So not a mistake - its called rebuilding strategy, not getting a perfect squad immediately but a decent squad as an interim.

Now we have pretty much a full squad, the next step is upgrading some of those players to a level we have not had for a few years - and we'll need to do that for a couple of years plus develop some of our youngsters with the aim that by the end of each window we have an improved squad

Unless there’s a mental buy back in McAtee, I’d have liked to see him here. Particularly for £20m.

Twelve months time, we’re all on here debating if he’s worth £60m or £70m.

You must not watch a lot of football.

Mbuemo, Gyokeres, Sesko - you all think were great value? Why?

Savinho has way more potential than most on that list.

People banging on about his 1 goal but he went very close many times and was unlucky not have more. Watch his highlight reel.

Also Pep’s wingers are not there to score goals. He got a bucket load of assists, as Pep sets wingers up to do.

Then look at his Girona spell - outstanding stats in a mediocre side.

I will be interested to see how that number is reported, but I would bet it's less than 60.

The problem with a buy-back is that it completely eliminates the top 5-10% of outcomes, while leaving you with the bottom tail of the player not being what you'd hoped. It's subtle, but it massively fucks with the expected value of the deal.

We would be buying McAtee hoping to get the player than City would just steal back from us in a year.

There's a much greater chance Forest will be happy to keep McAtee despite City not wanting him back, that window would be much smaller for us.
